How to delete the active air dam?

I keep getting a check engine light randomly since I removed my active air damn. Anyone else have this issue? Dealer said the only fix is to replace the AAD but my plow mount is in the way.

I know there is a stored code but no check engine light since I removed mine.

No CEL on any of the three trucks I've removed the AAD. Maybe something has changed for '22 models.

I have had to replace 5 AADs in the past week due to the Service Bulletin for the corrosion in the connector. (Also had to replace an AGS as well on one of them). There is a "Communications" line and Ground on the AAD (along with power, of course). The AGS uses the same circuit so if one goes out, so does the other. I'd have to look into the schematics to see if a resistor could be installed on the AAD end to fake the system into believing it is still attached.

Interesting, I'm curious to know what you find!

I just unplugged mine, had Oreilly clear the code, all good.

Hi yall new here. just put an aftermarket bumper on and was wondering if anyone else has done that and what they did to hide the AAD?

Apparently a lot of users are just taking it off, may generate a stored error code but not serious enough for the truck to complain. My target environment is mostly pavement, so when I had it off to do some other work, I painted the shaft to stop rust and put it back on.

I removed mine, I have ZERO codes.

I doubt there are any videos out there for such a simple job. Just unbolt it, then unplug the connector and tape it up out of the way. I've removed 3 of them and haven't seen any codes thrown.
I’ve removed mine and tapped it out of the way but it’s still flashing a code

My 21 bighorn Window sticker says active air dam delete so I assume it was never installed at factory.

Correct. When parts were on back order FCA just produced them without AAD.

Is your truck a '22 model? I've read that people with 2022's are getting a code when they disconnect the AAD. Which tells me they must have changed something in this system for the 2022 model year.

Any update on the resistor took mine off yesterday and the Uconnect app gave an alert that the was a code but no check engine light
