HOW TO: Add Digital Rearview Mirror

If I put a single digital camera in for my trailer, will the mirror work as a normal mirror when I'm not towing?
Just flip it to normal non digital mode and you'll be good. Do you need a DRVM because I have one for sale?

Does this go for the dual channel. So when I'm not towing, I can turn the digital camera off and use it as a normal mirror if i wanted?

I am looking at adding the digital mirror to my 2023 Laramie. Could someone confirm which parts I would need for the mirror?

I did read the first post. I am not sure which mirror I would need. I am just looking for confirmation.

Do you have FCW? If yes, then you need the one with FCW. If not, then you need the one without. I'll assume you have FCW since you have a 2023, but you might want to confirm just to be sure.

I have a 2020 I don’t get why I can’t just run the wire and connect it. What’s the point of the bcm under the seat?
A company online sells the complete kit as well. Was looking at that, but on there website it says 2021+

Because the 2019 and 2020 BCMs don't have the initialization code to enable the mirror. Do you think that we didn't try it? I spent hours working on it and a few with Jimmy07 too before we realized it wouldn't work.

Brother…Run the cable along the driver side weatherstripping and trim, and then use a tool to push it up in the rear near the third brake light. From there, with the third brake light removed you will be able to see the cable.
I've found some Y/T videos about removing the headliner and it doesn't look that bad. (Apparently, LED starlights are a big thing nowadays.) My interior trim shop told me these headliners are easy relative to many other vehicles.

If you peel back the weatherstripping, is there some play in the headliner as to where you can pull down on the headliner just enough and push the cable under it? I'm not sure I would want the cable sitting outside of the headliner between the door frame and the weather stripping.

I'm also sort of wondering that with the sunroof, I may be able to just fish it straight back to the sunroof, and then feed it around the sunroof and straight to the center of the windshield up front? Has anybody had success doing this with a sunroof?

There is a little play. And I used "fish tape" to pull the cable through. It's super easy.

There is a lot of great information here and I am looking forward to taking advantage of all the hours others have put into this allowing my work to be easier....THANK YOU.
I do have one question, however. The first post has two choices for mirrors, I do NOT have FCW and I would like two inputs to eventually add a camera on my trailer.

Now for the question....
Does the center stop lamp in the first post have one or two cameras in it? I currently have a cargo bed camera in my center stop lamp, will I lose that if I add the lamp on the first post?

Thank you

It has one camera. There isn't an option with the cargo camera. I'm working on a mod based on what others have done. Just haven't had time to do it.

I finally finished the installation of my 2nd camera port. I ran the cable similarly to the way the HD cable is run (thru the headliner and down the c pillar). However, I didn't have space to cut a hole next to my license plate due to the TTPMS module on the backside of the bumper. So, after many iterations, I've gotten a nice design for a 3d printed housing/mount. I printed it out of carbon fiber PLA for the final version and just added some adhesive foam bits to make it a tight fit.

EDIT: I decided I wanted to tuck the mount up even further. I removed 15mm of length so now it doesn't hang as low. See last 2 pics.
Hi, I'm looking to do the same thing, would you mind sharing the 3d model? Thank you!

Would this work instead of the MOPAR CHMSL?
