Where did you tap that into under the hood?
I used add a micro circuit for positive and ring terminal on negative. Also a couple of photos of how strip is placed. You don’t just lay against black plastic or it will get cover by black seal on hood.

That goes on the list of things I need!
I wish it came in amber but I ordered one anyways. I'll throw $35 at that all day long and if it's too much light, I'll mount it under my work bench cabinets, lol.

Battman:

I agree this is very cool and I would like to try it myself but I am not a "car guy" so I need a little more explanation.

It appears you are tapping into the external fuse box using a fuse tap. Do you have a specific part number and/or source for the tap you used or can you give me the parameters (apparently there are various types like ATC, Micro2 etc. and different amps).

Then it looks from your photo that you tapped into slot F54 (15A, PCM). Is that correct? Did you have to do anything with the fuses already in F59 and F60?

Any explanation you could provide would be very much appreciated! Thanks for sharing.

It is a micro fuse. You can get at almost any auto parts store. I just showed them the Amazon photo I posted and they got them for me. I actually used F60 and hope other photo shows you how I placed micro circuit. It has a 20amp I added another 20 amp. Overkill but have had no issues. I’m going to notch out side of cover so lid will lock when I get a chance.

I just ordered one. for $35 it's worth the risk.

Really wish it came in amber to match my DRL

Not sure where I will wire it into. I don't want it sharing a fuse with the PCM encase the light malfunctions and pops the fuse while the truck is running.

Mine just came in.
Looks like it was from Aliexpress.

I just checked Amazon with the numbers on the box and looks like it's cheaper from Amazon and has a selection of colors. This Flux Greare guy\website is just some random drop shipper.
On the side of the box it shows the different colors you can get it in, just not from this drop shipper.

It does explain why this guys website showed the bar in what seemed to be a blue color, despite him not selling it in blue. He just stole pictures from over the internet of people with the kind of bar and threw it up.

Oh well $35 and a learned experience.

That's always the way. I'll run mine the way it is for a bit and maybe try an amber one at some point. I have the Amber DRL's too but the everything is bright white once you turn on the headlights so the white looks really good too.

I finally got mine in the mail yesterday and installed it this morning. Took 10 times longer for me to find my bag of micro fuses than it did to install the strip.

Just search for "led hood light"

This is one of them https://www.amazon.com/SilverHolder-Exterior-Flexible-Daytime-Running/dp/B0BBMS7YBR/

I'm able to find a yellow one, but not amber. I think it would be a much brighter hue.

I didn't try and install this one yet but I did power it up with a 12v battery and it's super bright.

The tap a fuse I bought was complete junk. Can't even put the fuses it came with into it so I need to order another set.

What fuse would you recommend tapping into?

I used F59. The micro fuse adapter I used has two fuses stacked so if you blow the one for the LED strip, it doesn't affect the original circuit.
