Has anyone added a trailer brake controller to a 2025 yet?

They completely changed the electrical system. What didn't they change that is electrical in the 2025 model?
Who knows, I don't even think they know apparently.

I added the switch to the dash. However, where the control box should be mounted under the dash is different. There is a square black plastic box mounted where the bracket for the control box should be mounted.
Sorry - did not take a picture.
Called a few dealers, but they have not installed one in 2025 yet.
also, cannot find the wires.
I added a Curt Echo wireless controller to
Mine, to skip all the Mopar nonsense. The whole factory receptacle and mounting location on the truck seems very flimsy though

I bought my 2025 Ram last week. It did not come equipped with the factory electronic brake controller. I called yesterday and they thought they had the correct controller. I dropped it off at the dealer and they called and said the controller they had would not work on my truck. He’s working the phones trying to find the correct controller. I’m on my way to get my truck. Hopefully he can find the right controller and get it ordered soon.

Follow up. The dealership told me these controllers are on back order from the mothership and he expects it to be at least 30 days. He said he would call me. Disappointed.

Save money and go Aftermarket.

I'm just curious if i install OEM trailer brake controller kit myself, do i have to get dealer activate the program (re-config and activate the trailer brake controller)? thx

Yes - dealer needs to program on 2025.
Remember - the controller is behind the rear seat. The switch is on the dash - same as before
I have the install instructions somewhere on this thread.

thx azzx and do you know how much did they charge you just for activate it?

i do have installation instruction from mopar dealer part store i bought it from

I paid zero- FCA picked up the tab due to too many issues and my complaints to the Stellantis executives.
Unless you have an honest dealer, I would expect at least 200 bucks for programming.
In my case, the tech did not use the wire bundle that came with the kit.

After following your dilemma on your TBC, I didn't know that it cost you $0.00 for the programing of it, so what was your final cost after completion. I'm glad the dealer took care of it for free, I'm sure they had alot in getting it comped.

At the dealer, we are verify that the connector at the module has the wiring installed. If it does we order the module and switch only. Install and program them for $500 installed and programed.

That is reasonable - compared to what my dealer was asking

We don't remove the rear seat if the wiring is there. It takes 10 minutes at most to update the sales code.

That is smart!
My dealer's tech removed the rear seat and crisscrossed the seat belts.
I hate to go back the 2nd time with "your connect system requires service - see your dealer" message!

The parts for this are apparently on back order until October 23rd.

You can order the module and switch separately, most trucks have the wiring in the harness and don't need it. I will try to find that harness number that has all the wiring included.

Edit part number in harness is 68601443AA, I have checked multiple on the lot this number has all the wires, the tag for the harness can be seen from under the rear seats.

The dealer owes me this as part of the sale, unfortunately I’m at their mercy. They started off by ordering the wrong parts, it was only because of this post that I was able to steer them in the right direction, thanks.

Thomas Dodge in Highland IN, it was $390 for installation and $300 for the kit. It did have this module installed P/N 68569521AB. They did swap it out with the brake controller that came in the kit P/N 68569520AB. The module that came with the truck was P/N 68569521AB and the controller is P/N 68569520AB. Not sure what the function was of the original module 🤷‍♂️
So, Mopar part number 82219240AA is the dash squeezie switch and the module?

I took delivery of my 2025 Ram on August 30th and I’m still waiting on the dealership to get the controller. They keep saying it is on back order. I call every week. This is pathetic.
