Grill swap Limited into Laramie

Has anyone checked the fitment of the 2020 limited black edition grill to 2019 limited. Would like to give my granite limited a sport appearance.

For anyone interested, I researched this a while ago. I purchased a set of limited headlights for a (seemingly) phenominal deal on Facebook Marketplace and was planning on doing the swap. That was until I received them and found they were damaged. Thank goodness for PayPal buyer protection. Anyway, these are the part numbers I came up with:

68316085AG - Driver Headlight
68316084AG - Passenger Headlight
68404973AE - Limited Grille
68404993AD - Longhorn Grille
6BT16SZ0AC - Driver Lower Trim (Chrome piece that connects to the grill
6BT12SZ0AC - Passenger Lower Trim (Chrome piece that connects to the grill)
68403895AD - Driver Filler Panel (Painted piece below headlight)
68403894AD - Passenger Filler Panel (Painted piece below headlight)

Cheapest parts source I could find was bamwholesaleparts.com. These are the totals without painting the filler panels or installation from this site:

Limited option: $2,454.50
Longhorn option: $2,319.50

That Longhorn option is looking better and better to me. I’ll have to see how I feel after this BDS install.

I actually just did this conversion on my Laramie, except I used a Longhorn grill instead of the Limited. You will need the headlights, grill, chrome trim pieces that go under the headlights and new fascia pieces since they’re slightly different. It wasn’t cheap, but it looks a lot better in my opinion.
About how much did the swap run you. Just got a Laramie and want to do the same thing

Here’s another one colored matched that I found online (not my truck)

It looks good

I’m looking to do this also now that my BDS lift part is complete.

This what I did. Love my granite Limited but there was way too much chrome. I had the upper and lower grille painted to match and the center was wrapped in brushed black.

Sorry for the delay. Here is a picture of the completed front end. I don’t have the part numbers, Jeremy from Retro Shop helped me out with that. I would like to add that he was very helpful.
That is a great job. I do like this front end but I do agree with porboy that the limited looks the best. I am glad someone asked the question because I have been wondering that myself. You can have the nice front end with a lower priced truck and get the options I want that way. It is nice on here that everyone helps and can appreciate everyone's view.

TXlaramie, what did you do with your factory headlights and grill? I actually like those better than my limited grill and lights. The reason is that I want to color match my whole truck one color, and I'm not sure the limited grill and trim pieces will look that good painted. I may buy them from you if you decide to sell.
Its a long shot but, are you still looking to for the grille and lights?

Dang I just came across this topic, I been considering swapping out my laramie headlights with some oem limited headlights. Was just going to grab like a random aftermarket 'trx style' grille and try to fit everything together but seems like the longhorn grill might be the way to go.

I'd love to do this but my my concern is if I ever got in an accident and wrecked the front end, what would happen? They aren't going to replace the limited parts on my Laramie.

Saving this for later. Either that or when the time comes I might just upgrade to a limited haha.

This is what I ended up doing. I'm getting lazy in my old age. :p
I just have a list of things I want to upgrade that if I would have bought a limited I wouldn't be doing this so lately I've been thinking of just waiting 2-3 years and upgrading. This time around I'm going diesel as well. :D Love the sound of the Hemi, but I'm more about MPG's as I drive a ton. I work from home and have had my truck 3 months and I'm already at 10k.

Now see to me I’m the opposite as I prefer the Laramie lights lol. That’s why I love forums as you can like what you like without anyone hating on yaaa. If you are going to attempt it, I would shop EBay for the needed parts. Also see if your parts department are willing to give you the schematics at to what’s on each truck. :)
I am with you - I had a 2019 Big Horn and was always jealous of the Laramie because I think the LED headlights look so much better and function better so I was always thinking about my next truck as a Laramie or Big Horn with the LED package. Next thing I now I worked out a deal to upgrade to a 21 Laramie in the same color etc. and take money out of the deal so now I am happy everytime I look at the front end! Personally the longhorn limited is my least favorite front end followed by the limited - just don't like the 'squinty' look. I guess like you say that is why we all love this forum and the discussions about personalizing our trucks and connecting to swap parts etc.

When the 5th gens were first revealed I hated the Limited and Longhorn headlights. That held true even after I bought my 2020 Laramie. My order of preference as far as looks are concerned was:
1. Rebel
2. Laramie/Big Horn w/LED pkg
3. Limited/Longhorn
4. Tradesman/Big Horn w/halogens)

Then we bought my wife a 2020 Limited, and my preferences immediately changed. I'm a huge fan of the Limited headlights, and would never go back to the reflector LED's. I still like the Rebel grille the most, but now my order of preference (for looks) is:
1. TRX
2. Limited/Longhorn
3. Rebel
4. Laramie/Big Horn w/LED pkg
5. Tradesman/Big Horn w/halogens
