the "can" is a jar with the lid laid off to the side. Took me a minute to realize it wasn't a mug with a handle but a jar with pearls and jam in it.

I feel for you, my migraine went "permanent" over a decade ago. Two of my hobbies (loud cars and competitive shooting) still provide pleasure even though they hurt bad to do. And some rock and roll music right at the edge of speaker distortion and the limits of pain.
