2019 RAM, Anyone else with issues mounting front license plate? Hardware provided seems to just spin in the mounting holes. How have you resolved?

I search now for 3/8x1" self taping screws. Common license plate screws are 1/4x3/4

I don’t require a front plate, I’ve been trying to decide what to put in those predriled holes!

Dealer just mounted mine and it didn't indicate any issues

Mine was already mounted when i got my truck. Just have your dealer do it

Dealer will not tell you that screw is barely holding with half turn tension :)

I thought about painting some Christmas trees fasteners and pushing them in there.

Ended up using larger hardware. 3/8x 1.5 had laying around. Seems to work ok. Not the sturdiest mount though. Thanks for the feedback.

I’m leaning towards some of those lugnut / chariot spikes the truckers are using!

Same problem here. Plus, the holes drilled were not lined up. Real lame.

Mine was installed when I picked up the truck. - So might as well use it - Looks better without it but you don't see it when your driving.:giggle:

Yeah I did the install and didnt like the free spin. I'll look into some of the bolts you guys suggested, thanks

I put mine on and no issues with it at all. Couldn’t wait to get the Temp tags off and get my real plates transferred back over. It’s not that difficult to figure out but bonus points for anyone that understand my plates.

Winner winner (y)
It was too easy, northern Virginia full of military, don’t tread license plate and if you’re going to buy a kimber in .45 it’s going to be a 1911

I thought I had the same issue with the screws not being long enough for the front license plate, as well. However, the piece on the back of the holder that the screws go into should be lined up and pushed into the holes of the bumper first. Then the screws are inserted, expanding the plastic and holding the plate in place. Mine is holding very well and firmly now. Also I know I'm months late to this conversation but I'm hoping it'll help someone else trying to find a solution.

i put the front plate and bracket on MY truck using the supplied stuff and did NOT have any problems .. screws are tight

After mounted, do you have to get some more screws to attach the plate?
