Today I was underneath my truck attempting to locate the source of a squeaking noise which seemed to be originating from the front passenger side suspension. While inspecting that area I noticed the white sleeve which wraps around my front coil spring appears dislodged as pictured. I attached photos of the driver side spring for reference which appears normal.
Now my question is how to go about fixing this. I’m a mediocre DIY mechanic at best, and have never done anything with suspensions. Would the whole spring need to be removed to correct this or if the truck was jacked up and the suspension was at full sag would that part be able to be manipulated?
Also I was curious if anyone knew if that white sleeve is sold on its own or if I needed a new one would I have to order a whole new spring? I looked on the mopar website but was unable to find anything about that part.
Thanks for reading, any help is appreciated.
