Spends too much time on here
Glad you got it finished. I'd rather run a coil over a spacer in the rear.
Agreed..well, not quite finished yetGlad you got it finished. I'd rather run a coil over a spacer in the rear.
Eibach are dual rate coils right compared to OEM single rate? I'd rather have the dual rate for a better ride.Agreed..well, not quite finished yet
My thinking with the spacer is that when leveled, my suspension rides very slightly biased to the rear..and it's been super comfy.
I didn't want to change too much at once, knowing that something wouldn't go as planned and then I'd be chasing an unknown.
It'd be easier to swap the 1.5" spacer for the 1" spacer..but not really any tougher to swap in the Eibach coils.
My issue is..swapping in the 1" will give me perfect level..that I know for a fact now.
The Eibach says it's a 1" Lift coil, but who knows?!
Fox advertised the PEs as 3" Lift, although to be fair, on the phone they said expect 2.5"(+), not 3", and they were right.
I'm gonna prep the Eibach coils today..tomorrow I'll decide which way to go.
I really would like to know if the Eibachs would be better than my OEM springs at some point, so might as well do it first..and if not to my liking, then I can go back to current OEM springs & 1" spacers.
Turns out the OEMs are Dual-rate also..I had forgotten. The ORP moreso than the Non-ORPs. The rear 1" ORPs that are conversion matched to my OEMs have tighter coils on the top..AND the top coils are thinner guage!! CrazyEibach are dual rate coils right compared to OEM single rate? Interesting. I was going to say my OEM were single rate, but makes sense they would put dual rate on ORP over stock.Turns out the OEMs are Dual-rate also..I had forgotten. Yes, the Eibach are also Dual-rate, same guage coul throughput, and Eibach told me the top coils are 150lb/inch and the bottom coils are 300lb/inch.
No idea what the OEM spring rates are for Non & ORP springs..really wish I knew!
Also of interest, side by side, the 1"ORPs next to the 1" Eibachs..the ORPs are a good inch longer!!Interesting. I was going to say my OEM were single rate, but makes sense they would put dual rate on ORP over stock.
Yeah, I would agree with that being softer as well. Also of interest, side by side, the 1"ORPs next to the 1" Eibachs..the ORPs are a good inch longer!!
This leads me to think the ORPs are softer spring rate than the Eibach!
Maybe that'd be good(?), but my OEM springs were plush, so??
Hence my quandry!Yeah, I would agree with that being softer as well.
I tend to collect tons of parts just in case. If I didn't have the springs already I'd stay with the spacers, but might as well try since I have themPlus, more money spent on Eibach, then spacer I'm guessing...
I'm contemplating the Clayton coils in the spring. Mine has about .5" level which I'd rather have closer to 1-1.5" rake. I'm not fond of the leveled look myself. The issue, they're very pricey and not sure how much lift I'll get from them, if too much.I tend to collect tons of parts just in case. Yeah, it'll be a $300 mistake. I thought about just grabbing rear spacer.... I have time.Unfortunately, no knowing![]()
Yep, that'd do it.
These are for a Gladiator, but can be used on the RAM. So another thing to think about.Yep, that'd do it.
Also, interesting compared to Eibach 150/300 dual rate.
They are 1.5. Eibach said it could be 1 to 1.5. I was hoping for just 1 but got the 1.5. Turns out it doesn't matter. I can tell the .5 but i doubt anyone else can. They are dynamite in the desert. They are great on hard trails unweighted. I had to put in airbags for hauling gear though. Thanks much!
I might be getting this wrong, but are you running Eibach coils in back? If so, are they 1" or 1.5" lift? I believe Eibach just makes the 1" coils now..which I have, and I'm debating swapping them in instead of swapping in the 1" spacers for the 1.5" ones.
Strangely, I have a little bit of "Left Lean" again. I was almost perfectly level with my Eibach Pro-Trucks (+1/16" RR).
The LF is 1/8" low and the RR is 1/8" high now.
The Thuren UCAs are polyball mounts to frame, so no binding there and I tightened everything to torque specs under weight.
I suspect that when I drop the rear back down to level, the corner balance will tighten up again(?).
Swapping in the rear Eibach coils is an unknown..I've got no idea how they ride compared to stock..softer or stiffer?? They're "one size fits all" compared to my OEMs that are more specific to my truck.
Ideally, I'd like 1-1.25" lift from them. I wonder what springs you actually have..Eibach advertises them as 1" lift for rear Ram 1500 (E30-27-011-02-02).They are 1.5. They're about 4 years old. So they may have been replaced in their lineup. On and off road they are dreamy. They are progressive so the faster you go the harder they work. They are lousy at payload though. They are the matching coils for the Fox 2.5's so they work great with the way the Foxes are valved.Ideally, I'd like 1-1.25" lift from them. How do they ride on-road..smooth & rough surface?

Yep, I remember a 1.5" Eibach coil a few years ago..must have done away with it.They're about 4 years old. So they may have been replaced in their lineup. On and off road they are dreamy.
