Well, on my way to work today, normal 55 degree weather, my rear panel decided to explode on the freeway. Super cool
Holly cow! Glad it did not cause you to have an accident!

Once replaced, get some 3M Safety Film installed on it. It would at least
kept the shattered glass from raining on your Passengers. This is why
I ordered my Laramie without the Sunroof and of course no leaks too.

I purchased some 12 mil Safety Film for my side door glass. I will be
removing the windows from the door to install. I think I have
enough to do the Rear Window too.

Was driving 60 mph on the highway. Nobody in front of me. Explosion sound. Pulled off and saw this... Cleared the glass and found no rocks or anything that could have caused it to break. Just wanted to add that it happened to me to.

My sunroof exploded last week 12-22-22,,,, 2019 Limited
I believe it was from rapid temperature change. We had stopped for fuel and when we got back on the highway in the 11 degree air temperature, not 60 seconds later it exploded. Ram Cares, did NOT care and said that it wasn't covered and must have been our fault. My MAXIMUM CARE extended warranty also said the "glass" was not covered.
I do have a great service adviser at the dealership that I use. His mechanic found an engineering report on the exploring sunroofs but it looks like RAM has taken zero responsibility. Surprise Surprise!

I’m sure that was scary and cold! Won’t help you right now, but maybe later… file a report on the NHTSA site.

It just happened to my '19 Laramie on the freeway at around 72 M/H. No bumps no heat/cold just blow up. At 89000 miles approx. Panoramic roof the front one. I have a video from my Ring cam nothing hit it just blown up. Loud bang almost like a shotgun shot. Take it to dealer tomorrow. I have a Mopar extended warranty, see what they say.

Likely cheap’d out on the glass overall in these trucks. I drive mostly highway and my windshield looks like it’s been sandblasted, very much pitted. My ‘14 was not at all like this.

It happened to me today while driving back to the office after lunch. It was around 70 degrees and overcash. I was on a long exit ramp (about 2 miles) and couldn't pull over safely immediately. One loud explosion!!! Fortunately the sunshade was closed and all the glass was contained in that area. I went immediately to the dealer. The service department suggested I file a claim with Ram Care and I did that before I left the dealership. I'm hoping it will be replaced under warranty since I have less that 10,000 miles on the truck.
