Exhaust Manifold Options

I know this is an older post but has anyone tried these?
Interesting!

I know this is an older post but has anyone tried these?

I have been watching those for a while now before they even became available. I have been waiting to pull the trigger between these or the BD diesel, only 2 I would dare consider and so should any other person over stock/aftermarket ie dorman or shorty headers. I have 65k and nothing wrong with mine, but will be replacing very soon to stay ahead of it and upgrade performance while at it.

I'll be making a decision once I can verify if the AFE provide more flow than the BD as I suspect it may be the same and if afe hardware is the same as BD.

I know the BD are better flow design than stock on top of the construction etc, the known benefits, but they do not claim anything on flow and not sure they care to vs AFE does more testing than BD and does provide flow specs.

BD is a very well-known brand in the diesel world and solved the same issue that plaques HD trucks with manifold warp/bolt breaking so it is not a hemi thing and certainly not the only gas truck brand in Dodge with the issue if you do some research and pay attention... I trust BD so will be hard for AFE to beat unless the hardware is the same and the flow specs are better...

Side note: Banks Power is up to some engineering with the hemi's so wouldn't be surprised if some new releases hit in 2026, albeit exhaust manifolds are not in their wheelhouse, but they are designing an exhaust, so maybe headers too and hopefully a sealed cai...

Have you looked at the dorman in person and seen the differences vs stock?

yes dorman is a waste of money and identical to stock, they will not solve anything. I tried a dorman on my 3rd gen, lasted 1k miles and then on my 4th gen BD did not exist so tried shorties and they lasted or never did really, leaked from day one so then took my stocks and sanded down with a belt sander, that lasted for a good 60k miles before that hardware broke, so now on my 5th gen I will only choose BD or AFE if they are as good as the BD's.

You are so wrong, they are COMPLETELY different. The 3rd and 4th gen are different parts for manifolds. Go ahead and look at the difference. As someone that has held multiple manifolds(oem, Dorman, and BD) for the 5th gen, they are definitely different than stock.

not wrong 4th gen and 5th gen hemi is the same engine and really not much different than the 3rd gen and you really think Dorman changed the materials... and any better than stock, same junk quality is nothing in comparison to the BD quality. Look into the materials, manufacturing process and overall design of those dormans... but to each their own.

Again the manifolds are not interchangeable from 4th gen to 5th gen
I do not care about the engine, we are talking EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. The Dorman replacements are not the same design as stock, definitely upgraded. Go ahead and change your story to make you feel better. You have never held a 5th gen exhaust manifold made by dorman, you have done zero research or have real world experience to know either way.

These are not the same exhaust manifolds as a 5th gen, they wont work. With your logic the trans filter from your 3rd Gen will work in a 5th gen.

let off it guy, you don't know me nor my experience nor my research. If you look into dorman is no better than stock, looks don't mean anything, do your homework on what the dorman manifold really is at the end of the day. Real world experience which is far greater than you can imagine has only BD as a legit upgrade to stock and not from looks but from actual r&d, materials, manufacturing and design. AFE is yet to be determined.

SHOTS FIRED!

Hi pot, kettle here(we both are keyboard warriors). You have lied, its right here. The question was if you have seen the Dorman manifolds. Again my picture has proven that you in fact lied and haven't done your research like you keep ranting about. The only clown here is the liar, you.

Enough is enough already, no lies being told here, period. I answered a question and spoke my experiences regardless of application but doesn't mean I haven't touched any, aint no lie there so you can stop making something out of nothing. Your picture doesn't prove anything about me nor my experience, so if my word choice and sentence structures are not understandable to you, I am not going to re-explain anything, move on.
