Etorque generator noise

Does the whine you hear change pitch with the downshifting when you're decelerating and coming to a stop? My 2022 Laramie has a faint whine that does that when I'm coming to a stop. I haven't seen any issues beyond simply hearing the whine. So I haven't really been overly concerned. But I have thought about letting my dealer take a listen and see if they might find something not quite right. Hope they figure yours out. Post back any updates!
Mine was making noise like that. Seemed like on shorts trips it was more prevalent. Once the bearing got warm the noise would go away completely. My dealer didn't hear it at first but I replied I wasn't taking the truck back till the noise was confirmed.

So they did eventually hear it? What is the cause and was it anything that needed corrected?

The bearing in the unit was failing. The tech heard it and they replaced the unit under warranty. I was at 57k miles and didnt wana get stuck out of warranty with a failed unit.

Owner 2021 ram 1500 limited night edition with 8300 miles. Since purchase I started hearing whining noise between 500-700 rpms. Took to dealership of purchase and they said it was normal after having me sit in another Etorque. They said it’s related to generator charging hybrid battery while idle. I somewhat reluctantly agreed but annoying sound continues. I am still in process of investigating into this. Does anyone else with Etorque 5.7 L hemi have this problem? I’m planning on driving this truck for many miles but concerned this noise is associated with problem that may come up later after warranty expires $$$$.
Also for truck at price point of 72K it seems not right to have such an annoying noise to be normal.
Hi, I have the same issues as your truck. I own ram rebel 23. Any update about your truck? Did they find the problem and fix it? Thanks

They replaced my generator unit under and 2 manifolds under the 8 year/80,000 federal emissions warranty.

This is funny. I just took my 2020 RAM in to have the etorque changed for the whining whirring noise. After the tensioners and MGU were changed, the noise is still there. They also said it is normal and invited me to listen to another RAM. I guess I'll just be happy with new parts and ignore the noise now.

Sounds like a lot of these trucks have the same issues. I have a 2021 Ram 1500 5.7 eTorque and mine is making this same loud whining noise. It just started doing it a few days ago. @RamCares

I have 1500 Bighorn 2021 just hit 50,000 miles. Same issue hearing strained whining noise around Etorque. Dealer says there's a recall associated with it . Power train control module software (reprogram) (?) Dropped truck off and finished within 2½ hours with oil change. The problem seemed quiet, Only prob is after I got back around home and in a parking lot going slow the noise got louder, again. Still wondering what it is? ETorque or MGU (Motor Generator Unit) or what? I'll be giving my dealership another call tomorrow or day after
