Hi friends, I had a thread a little while ago about my driver side speakers not working in my 2019 Laramie with the 9 speaker alpine system. I took it to my local audio shop who told me it was probably the amp going out, so I spent $230 to get the exact same Mopar part number amp, and of course it didnt fix it. And of course I cant return it because "no returns whatsoever on electrical components."
Fair enough.
Today, I was on a bluetooth phone call and I realized suddenly that all of my speakers were working during the call! I was excited, but of course when the call ended the music still wouldn't work for it.
I know deep down that at this point I should probably just give in and take it to the dealership, but I would bet money that, because it is a couple thousand miles out of warranty, they are going to just tell me that I need a new head unit, and those are like $800 for the 8.4. I guess I was just hoping to exhaust all other possibilities and see if you all had any ideas on fixes or what might be going wrong before I give in.

i know this sounds really basic and you probably already checked but in case you didn't have you checked your center point of audio location in the audio settings under balance and fade? the red speaker icon should be located in the middle of the cabin on the diagram displayed on your screen.

Yea that was one of the first things I checked. It's also what I've been using to troubleshoot it every time I try a potential fix. I move the speakers all the way to the driver side and all I can hear is a little bit of the center dash speaker lol...

Will do, I have an appointment with a dealer today.

Just as a sort of update, I dropped my truck off at the dealership early Thursday morning, and they have had it since then. They have told me that it has been a "nightmare" for them, that they "have it completely apart" right now and they're still trying to accurately diagnose the issue. I've been in a loaner since friday and they are telling me today that they still don't know what's going on. It's getting pretty old right now driving a loaner, considering my truck is perfectly functional for driving other than the radio, I was hoping it wouldn't be this involved of an issue. I'll update more later this week as I learn anything else just in case anyone is following this issue and for future people looking for info on this particular problem.

I have the same issue. We noticed it a few weeks ago only sound is from the center but not on calls.

I'll let you know if I get any info about what caused the issue from the dealer. My truck has been at the dealer for nearly two weeks now for these speakers... I have an escalated case at the moment with Ram to try and get them to cover it under warranty because this is ridiculous. Its a radio, a premium audio system at that, it should work for more the next 10 years, not **** out after a year. Anyway, if/when I get them to fix it I'll see if the service guy can get me any kind of info on what happened to it and post back here with it.

Your truck is still at the dealers? That is ridiculous. Have they tried testing a different head unit on it to see if it works or not? it's either car wiring or the head unit itself and those two aren't that hard to trouble shoot. If it is head unit i doubt they have a tech that can really open up the circuit board and try figuring it out. not sure why it would be taking them this long.. Also do they have a way to do like a factory reset on the head unit to see if that fixes anything to eliminate any software conflict?

My truck does this randomly, but I'm thinking it only happens when I have my phone connected thru Apple car play... I will pay more attention to what source is playing the next time the drivers side goes out.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you.

My truck does this with Android Auto and Waze. When it says something like turn left, it mutes the volume of the musing coming through the driver's side speakers and it doesn't un-mute. I have been unplugging my phone to get the music volume back.

For me, it happens with satellite radio, Android Auto, and Waze.

All, I've been having a similar issue, but it seems to clear up when I raise or lower the volume. It happens, for example, if I'm playing something on Spotify then start a YT video. I have to turn up (or down) the volume to get the sound going again. Try that next time.

When you can, try my "fix" above. See if that works for you as well. Might need some sort of software update to address this, @RamCares

Well the good news is I finally got my truck back yesterday. They ended up replacing the radio, and thanks to Ram Cares opening up an escalated case on my behalf they covered it under warranty. I asked the dealer's service guy if he had any insight as to what specifically was wrong with my radio head unit, and he said that they weren't sure, that they aren't allowed to open them up, they just have to send it back off to Uconnect. So no info there unfortunately. My advice to anyone else with this issue (or a similar one) is to take it to the dealer and have Ram Cares here get you a case #. It took some major patience on my part but they did right by me as far as giving me a loaner for 2 weeks and covering the whole $1500+ ordeal under waranty. I'll keep an eye on this thread if anyone has any questions about my experience, though it was relatively straight forward, just really drawn out.
