Does RAM make improvements on the line?

Absolutely, anything identified will be looked at/corrected it newer builds.
Good to know, and this is how owners can really help each other out by speaking up. Yes Ram is seeking to fix problems as the model year moves on, but if problems are not identified they will not be fixed. When owners quietly deal with the problems (honorably “sucking it up” as many of us were taught to do growing up) we don’t help the community.

When we report problems, great or small, to service departments then Ram learns from us.

When owner/enthusiast sites like this share stories, collect owner polls (https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/how’s-your-2019-ram-running-take-our-poll.1017/), and if @RamCares listens ;) (y)Ram has a chance to see those consistent trends like spotty AC performance, squeaking brakes, and glitchy 12” UConnect systems (fairly apparent trends), and learn from us. Once these are confirmed/identified problems there’s a chance they will get hammered out.

So given what @Jared B @JRS200x amd @habu987 have said above, let’s hope owners continue to respectfully speak up about these and other identified problems so they can be addressed as quickly as possible. (Like maybe no later than my D1 date (y))

My question is does RAM make quality improvments within the same model year? Now that there are thousands of these new 2019 trucks on the road, it appears there are some issues that appear more common. Do they make improvments during production of the trucks? Example - Would an August built truck today be better than an April build?

Judging from the gripes I hear from techs, there are many assembly line changes that either affect part numbers or repair/adjustment procedures.

I’m sure it’s a real pain for the techs, but of course those changes are crucial for the early (brave!) customers too. I suppose we all get a share of the headaches from a new model year. Buying a new model year vehicle is like a hangover headache... never good for us, never feels good, but was the party worth it? Well, maybe sometimes, ya.

The last three trucks ('03 Dakota, 2010 Ram 1500, 2014 Ram 1500) had no issues within the first year or more. My 2019 does have a few issues, nothing major, all fit and finish stuff. But then again, except for the powertrain, this is a completely new vehicle assembled in a new plant with completely new machinery. I actually am surprised that a new design has been launched this well. In fact, I know folks that are dealing with worse issues on vehicles that are into their 3rd and 4th years of production!

I can say that all plant workers got memos about improving production quality the other day.

I really hope this policy makes it out to the dealerships and service managers/departments. I believe I have found a good service manager (time will tell) but it is really disheartening to hear other stories of how widely varied the quality, attitudes, and responses are out therefrom service departments. Some really do care, others seem to not...
