Does Android Auto display full screen?

Ask android auto
I think you mean ask Uconnect... Google released an android auto update almost 18 months ago that allows android auto to scale to any screen size. It's mildly infuriating that android auto goes full screen, and looks better in my moms Kia Seltos than my Ram with a 12" screen.

@RamCares has heard our complaints for 3 years about AA not being full screen on the 12" display. It is quite obvious that Ram does not care.. or only cares about Apple

I have a '24 Laramie with the 12 inch screen. Full screen works well with my wife's iphone and apple play. It does not work with my Galaxy S23 FE and Android Auto. What is up with that. I've read complaints from 2022. 2 years and it's still not fixed????

It wasn't broken, so nothing to "fix".

Thinking of switching back to Android for the s22. Wondering does Android auto display full screen on the 2022 12 inch screens with Uconnect 5?
I have a 12' 2023 and Android auto splits between nav and whatever you are using the Android for music, audio book, etc. If I hit media while using a media app on my Android, it is full sxreen.

Is it linking to the Apple? If so, disconnect and make your Android primary. I have not had a problem and I do not.link my work IPhone, just my Android.

Hi team,

I don't know if we're allowed to post links to other forums, but some of us frustrated android auto users with 14" portrait mode screens over in the HD Ram forum have a semi-inexpensive workaround for Uconnect's failure to update for AA. If we're not allowed to link here lemme know and I can PM the thread to those interested.

Here are some images of me running full screen portrait mode AA (as supported for multiple years now, except by Uconnect). The device also supports full screen youtube and netflix, though I'm not interested in those. I did test YouTube and shared an image of it as well.

I think there would be 100s of Ram owners interested in this "semi-inexpensive workaround".

It only works for UC5 systems. So most of the 5th gens produced wouldn't see the benefits of full screen

Well, the thread title said UC4. I was assuming the responses being given were for UC4 systems. If this doesn't work for older models, then I don't need any info on it.

I'd certainly be interested in learning for the truck on order.

This thread is in wrong subforum. Should be in the UC5 sub forum. I reported it so admin can move it

Kia telluride is just one example of a car whose radio software was already set up for full screen android auto.
Android auto has done their part. Now it’s up to stellantis to update UC5 to accommodate it for full screen. The new UC5 26.17 update might address this since “Android auto improvements” is in the improvements list for that update.
UC4 will probably never get it.
totally different HORIZONTAL screen in kia/hyundai
