I was a 30 year ford driver both 150s and 250s but my 16 f150 leaked bad in the drivers front floor every time it rained I'd have 2 quarts of water. I thought it was because the ford is glued together on the body panels no welds but...….Now I'm going to check my 19 2 week old ram..... you guys have me scared....I'll keep you posted

Spend some time in the tropical south and you'll find out wet vehicle interiors can't be ignored. Black mold will start growing in a couple of days and you won't be able to sit in it. Dew points in the 70's and 120 +/- days above 90° every year will get mold and mildew flourishing. Swimming pools turn green in a week without chlorine.

Man that's crazy!! I'm up here in Northern Alberta, so we have quite a different climate. Its quite dry all the time so its easy for something like this to go unnoticed.

I like my new ram so much but dammm RAM did a Horrible job putting these things together honestly. My 4th gen was great. This 5thgen quality control sucks. And they are super expensive @RamCares I need cash back plus more

Try running water down the cowl. Fords used to be notorious for the drain holes (between the door and the fender) plugging up and allowing water to get into the cabs.

Still are. My 2016 F150 I traded in for this did that. My A/C always smelled like mildew when I turned the car on. Hated it.

Hey everyone!!

So a little back story here:

I purchased a 2019 Rebel back in November 2018. The truck ended up having water issues on both the driver and passenger side firewall/footwell area. Water was finding its way in through the seams of the body and pooling on the floor soaking the carpet and underlay. Fought hard with the dealership and they decided to take the truck on trade for a different one, no cost to me.

I special ordered a Bighorn (was hoping that a new build would eliminate some of the early assembly issues). It showed up Valentines day. I did not check for leaks right away, obviously I should of, but one would think that is a very isolated problem.

Anyway as I'm detailing my truck this morning, I feel some dampness on the drivers side carpet under the floor mat.....UH OH. So, I pop the kick panel trim off and lift back the carpet and there is a large puddle of water. Again.

2 different trucks built 8 months apart, both leaking, Same owner.

This is definitely a larger scale issue than Ram and FCA are admitting. I will be going straight to the dealership and phoning FCA Monday to start fighting for a buy back. So incredibly disappointed.

Just want to to make everyone aware, check your floorboards!!!

Don't let anyone downplay your issue. I've seen so many water leak posts on this forum it isn't funny. Search the other threads about leaks to find various resolutions. So far I've seen fixing grommets that were installed incorrectly and using silicone to fix leaks near the firewall.

Just checked my new Ram (lone star/ big horn) and found the carpet pad wet on drivers side same as the OP! We just had a big storm and truck was not on wet road so not sure if coming through weld seam or somehow along door seals, nonetheless will Be addressing next week with dealer. It rains a lot down here in Houston and I need to nip in the bud. There goes the new car smell...
Thanks for posting as finding out now I may have a chance to minimize damage.

Not sure about him, but for me it was underneath the floor mat. All of the carpet underneath was soaked and squishy. I’d post a picture for you but it’s at the dealership getting checked and getting the brake pedal recall fixed at the moment

Its a big deal in my eyes for sure... Pretty sad when you see pictures of new trucks patched with some silicone, pathetic on Rams behalf if you ask me.....

Good luck, my 2013 Wrangler Hard Top leaked the exact same way (of course it was a wrangler, but still). It was a $40K vehicle that shouldn't leak. When I lived in Pittsburgh it would snow overnight, during the day that would melt and leak inside, then freeze overnight. I had pounds of ice under my mats.

Takes a couple days sometimes, but I’ve had good results when I’ve taken the time to ask for @RamCares ’ help. They don’t “fix” a lot of problems directly, but by recording your problems in your own words and opening cases they increase corporate visibility on problems that otherwise might stay hidden down at the dealership level; helpful with challenging service departments, also when problems have service departments stumped or at the limit of their authorities (modifying vehicle designs/STAR cases). This worked out well on the ANC humming problem, though I wouldn’t call the whole process fast, so patience is still a virtue! Good luck.

I know I might sound like a cheerleader, but no affiliation here. I just find it helpful to understand capabilities and limitations of the folks I need to work with. Reduces my frustration level which I like, and usually ends up improving the service I receive... which I also like.

Dealer has had for two days and can not replicate leak, they claim they have a protocol and need to test all known leak sources? I’m concerned they are gonna start pulling apart stuff that will never be the same in terms of fitment.
Bighorn eh - Iast I saw u had same problem, did u Identify the leak source and what was the resolution from dealer???
