It’s frustrating when the dealer hands over the keys but doesn't know how the tech works. If the tile isn't showing up in your app, you probably need to make sure your VIN is fully registered and the app is updated. Try calling the manufacturer's connected services line instead of the dealership.

Hi there OTA updates are typically done on the back end. So, you technically would not see a difference in your software version compared to a FOTA update.

I think she meant Model Year 2025 that were built in 2024 will be first.

For clarity, the reason many (most, really all but a few) of us do not have the required "pair" tile in our app is that our VINs have not yet been selected. Once our VINs are selected, the "pair" tile will appear in our app, allowing us to complete the pairing process. Is that an accurate assessment of the process?

It most likely needs to push to your truck first and then once your phone app syncs with the truck again it’ll see it’s available and then populate it in the app to allow pairing. So essentially, yes.

Absolute garbage that using digital key requires a subscription. That is anti-consumer. No other brand I've had this feature with required a subscription.

I also don't believe it was ever advertised as requiring a subscription to use. RAM needs to compensate for this.

I’m not ram care, but reading this, you get a 10 year subscription when you buy the truck. But you still have to have that activated with an account. I think that is what they meant. Have the account created/activated. The subscription is free for us (10 years) but you do have to have it.

I would agree but @RamCares clearly stated "Also, please keep in mind that you must buy a subscription to utilize." It sure sounds like @RamCares is saying we must PAY for the service. That is why I made the post so @RamCares could clarify their statement.

Hi everyone, apologies for the confusion. To provide some clarity, the service is free to use, but the user is required to activate Connected Services by accepting the Terms & Conditions. It is free for the first 10 years but after a subscription fee may be required. The subscription is not needed to receive the FOTA update but the Connect 1 subscription will be needed to activate the digital key.
