Digital Key setup 2025 Laramie

This is insane. It was actually a big selling point for me. My wife’s BMW has digital key and it’s so nice to have one less thing to carry. My 2025 Tungsten is currently in the shop with 400 miles on the odometer and a completely dead battery. I was a loyal Ram owner but this truck is starting to change my mind.

Please posted if anyone gets a date for this release. Lets hope when it does get released it actual works 🤞

Still no update on Ram app. How can you advertise this in your website? At lease have a disclaimer saying it’s not available yet. My dealer thought it was working and can’t believe it doesn’t.

This is all fallout from poor pricing decisions imo.

Keep prices artificially elevated (COVID effect) too long. Drive away customers. Cut costs by reducing headcount (it's only materials, labor or overhead mostly). Run into additional issues due to the panicked cost cutting.

Edit: still doesn't change that these are the sexiest trucks on the market.

Just bought a Rebel X tonight, they first were saying it did not come with the digital key card but then agreed it should be there since it has Rebel Level 2 package. They could not find the card but the GM is going to order one and have it programmed. I asked them to see if he can find out when the new ETA is on the digital option being in the app. If I get any info I will share here. Thanks!

Welp apparently they did not look closely. I found the key card in the top bin of the console. 😂 And it works! 🙌

exactly? the ram app has been the issue. I have my digital key card in the house still in the plastic.
I can't use the phone yet, but the key card works by itself without the key fob nearby. I tap the key card on the door, it unlocks the doors. Then if you put the key card against the wireless charger the car recognizes the key and will let you start it.

Just to clarify, the key card worked for me right out of the packaging. I did not have to do anything to it. It took me many attempts by trial & error to find the sweet spot where the door handle and wireless charger recognizes it.

My truck was delivered to the dealership about a week and half ago. I was thinking maybe they only recently started programming them? Maybe if you took delivery previously they had not done so. That could be wrong I'm just guessing.

thanks, it would have been helpful if the truck had an actual owners manual in it that covered how this stuff works. the quick sheet is about useless. and the dealers don't know how any of this new stuff works.

First salesman I talked to when I started looking at the Tungsten told me there was a credit card reader installed just above the push to start for you to insert the card into and that it locked in place while the truck was running like an ATM.

He also told me the specific truck I was sitting in did not have adjustable ride height while I was moving the truck up and down. He was a gem!!

😂 Yeah most of the folks at the dealership had a bewildered look on their face when asking questions about the key card and digital key.

Here is the placement that worked for me.

yeah, I just like having the manual so I can have stuff highlighted and write notes in it. pretty cheesy to not provide something like that.
Why? I'm sure 90% of people don't use it and it's just a waste. Next time, bug the dealer to include it. They gave me one. I didn't ask, it was just there. I've used it twice in 4 years. I have it on my phone and it's just easier. But I get some people are old school. It's easy to order or maybe ask if it hasn't been too long since you bought your vehicle.

Yep I’m old school just used to having a manual. I figure a truck for 87, grand should have an owners manual in it. Again just my preference is all.

Mine worked after installing the latest UConnect Update. Weird :(
