Defect part behind steering wheel

There is a defective part behind the steering wheel near the clock spring that cause rattle and grinding noise. Please someone have the name or number of the part. I needed to help the technician to fix my truck. It’s an error by the manufacture in the construction of that part.

Ok, I have a rattle and a grinding noise behind my steering wheel. Technician replace sway bar links and the rack and pinion it’s ok. Searching in the forum Grinding noise I found a member with the same issue and say that replace the clock spring but the problem was a piece near then. I’m try to contact but do not respond. If your steering work fine with no rattle or grinding when you turning don’t worry.

The clockspring is the thing in the steering wheel assembly that allows you to turn your steering wheel lock to lock and maintain electrical connections with the air bag and all those neat buttons around the steering wheel. It's called a clockspring because that's what it looks like on the inside.

Why would you need to help the tech? He has DealerConnect and can look up the part himself - it even has photos AND and Recall/TSB/ or STAR case regarding your issue ..

We have no information regarding your vehicle as your signature is empty. Maybe you have a 4th gen and we are all lost to your request? We can only guess that you are referring to a DT (2019 New) ..

There was a known issue regarding the Intermediate shaft (which isn't next to the clockspring) which was "grinding"
There is a DAMPER (part 68306867AC ) But I haven't seen one of those being replaced (yet)
Is the upper or lower plastic portions (shroud) of the column rubbing and you feel like it is a grinding noise?

Bump. I have a 2021 RAM Laramie. And I just have my clock spring ordered today (it takes 1-2 months to ship to local dealership). I am surprised that this is not fixed after two years.

I just got a 2021 Laramie as well, I have the metallic vibration in the steering wheel area on rough spots at highway speeds. I’m scouring these forums for a fix. I can’t believe a $60k truck is doing this with 350mi.
