I was poking around in the new truck today and during my pack rat inspection, I noticed the drivers side (see pic) inside fender has a piece of foam sealing the inside of the fender. The passenger side does not. interesting

Just checked mine. Each side has its respective foam inserts.

can a few others check before I take it back??

Yep, you’re missing one. Mine has both of these.

Guys,
I cant determine the location on the pics.
Open the front door and look at the where it meets the front fender?

thanks

OP did it from the front with the hood open, but the way you described it will also work. That's how I looked at mine.

I'll check tomorrow as I have some wind noise coming from the passenger side.

interesting.....mine is a Laramie if that makes a difference....

I had a nasty wind noise coming from the passenger side as well at about 73+ MPH. I moved the striker plates in on the rear doors and haven't heard anything since then, and I just put almost 500 highway miles on averaging 78mph.

Mine are in there .. I opened the door and looked .. they are very flimsy (and flat). I had to pull it back into place.

Just dropped off my vehicle at the dealer to see if they can fix the windnoise concern coming from the passenger side A-Post area. Has anyone had this issue resolved going through their local dealer? Just curious what the fix was.

Well I just called my Service Advisor and was told that they didn't even look at my truck today, even though I made an appointment over a week ago and have a FCA Case Number assigned to my problem. Wow!!! I am totally underwhelmed with FCA and the dealer. FCA you don't seem to be taking this "Customer Service" thing seriously!!!

Sadly that’s because of the type of repair it is, you practically have to bribe techs with other good jobs to get them to chase noises under warranty. FCA warranty doesn’t pay them enough to spend anytime actually trying to find the source of noises.

Stricter plate? Can you describe or post picture?

It’s what the door latches to when you shut it. It’s zinc plated and held on with two bolts. Loosen the bolts 1-2 turns and hit it inward towards the center of the truck. (you’ll have to hit it pretty hard) I adjusted mine about 1/8”- 3/16” inward and haven’t heard the noise since and that was about 5 weeks ago.

My passenger side wind noise came from rear door seals not being sealed. New seals on the way, both sides.
