Comma.ai

Can you explain the process. Do you turn on your cruise control and then turn on the Comma? Which Comma do you have?

There's only one comma that you can get. The comma is running the whole time as a dashcam but isn't activated until you turn on ACC using the button and set a speed. Then it takes over steering while the factory ACC controls the gas and brake.

So is your lane sense button above your radio showing that its on? I didn't know if you had a Comma 3 or a Comma 2.
Sorry I'm so full of questions that seem redundant.

I have a 3. The 2 is obsolete, but still works in a limited capacity. When the Comma is active the light on the button is off. It's weird because when the light is on LKAS is off. You can use the button to disable comma steering while using ACC. But factory LKAS functionality is replaced with the Comma.

How difficult was it to install? Are you happy with it compared to the factory LKAS?

Well, there is a huge difference between the two. LKAS just nudges you back in the lane. The comma is completely hands free. There is a limit to the turning though. So, depending on some curves, you need to help it turn.

Installation is simple. Remove the mirror cover, unplug the DASM connector, plug in the Comma harness, install the software.
