clicking sound with brake pedal

The clicking seems to be something else on the pedal assembly instead of that plastic dome? Because when I took out the plastic dome to grease it, I pushed on the pedal and still heard the clicking noise with the plastic dome out and white pushrod retainer disconnected.

and maybe so...however so far it's resolved my issue by applying some grease to it..

This makes my head spin. Sounds like RAM doesn't want to hear from people after the sale, and for sure not if a warranty issue.

Speaking of warranty repairs, I have a pontoon boat that had a leaking tube. My local dealer didn't want to replace it because the Manufacturer wouldn't pay em enough for replacement time. Only after an A$$ chewing to the GM, it was covered. What a hassle!!

Yeah. This is the 2nd dealership I went to. I probably should have figured that there might be a issue with this dealership when my salesperson said the entire service department was changed. They didn't even document my visit...

I'm not saying that this is your issue but I know the brake pedal will make a clicking sound when you push it to go from park to another gear because it has a switch in the assembly to stop people from shifting out of park without the brake pedal depressed .

While this might be normal- it's not by design. It's not the relay or a solenoid used to shift out of park.

The noise is the metal plunger rod from the pedals pressing against a plastic cup that's designed to be a wear item and to take up any slack in the adjustable pedals mechanism. During assembly they should have put some silicon grease on both sides of the cup.

My truck made this noise and I fixed it by removing the brake pedal assembly by releasing the white plastic tabs and pulling the pedal away. This will take the plunger rod with it, and there will be a white cup about the size of a nickel on either the rod, or the inside of the brake booster assembly. Remove this cup, and apply a thin layer of dielectric grease on both sides of the cup and reassemble. The noise will be gone after this 5 minute

Found the attached instructions on page 1. Gonna give it a try tonight and see if it stops the clicking and creaking. Will report back.

The top white tab is resting almost directly on the pushrod so I can't pull it down to get it to disengage. Any special way to make this work? I'm about to get a can of white lithium grease and just spray down what I can get to but I'd rather pull it out and use thick grease..

I was thinking that same thing once I got in to leave and hit the pedal. It seems to have a lot more inward travel when it's running. I'll try that tomorrow and report back.

I never was able to get the top clip to release. Whether I adjust the pedals or have the truck running for more pedal travel the top clip is right on top of the booster rod preventing me from releasing the retainer. I sprayed what I could with white lithium grease and it still has the clicking noise since the grease can't reach the front cup..
