Hey all, I bought a 2019 Ram Laramie in June in OKC at Fowler dodge. It was a demo with 4,000 miles on it but was sold as “new”. This month I noticed the clear coat is chipping off just behind the plastic piece on the tail gate. Long story short... I went to a local dealer who sent me to Chrysler certified collision repair shop. Chrysler then denied my warranty claim saying the tailgate had been repainted. I called Fowler of OKC and they said that records show they didn’t paint the tailgate and i sure as crap didn’t. So now I have a truck with 8,000 miles on it with peeling clear coat. Any ideas on how to make this situation better? Thanks in advance.

Highly likely the repair was done either in transit or at the dealership. Most of the time, even the dealer won't note these repairs to avoid having to disclose them during sale. They just won't price the repair because if it reaches a certain amount it has to be disclosed to potential buyers.

Or it could have been damaged and repaired by the transport facility before it even reached the dealership.

I would contact FCA/Mopar customer care first. FCA denied your warranty, but they can still turn the screws on the dealership if you convince them you didn't do it. I suspect it was repaired at the dealership off book.
