My interior is quiet but the door alignment is extremely poor I complained about it and they would not fix it. My 1966 Chevy has better body lines than this
Very unhappy with My laundry list of items that they will not fix
Video of the noise for reference for anyone else. Conversations are not the easiest to have with this.
(yes, I filmed vertically because it was easier; no comments on who was driving please...)
I'm lucky that my issue seems to be purely cosmetic. Your noise would drive me nuts! Are you sure that door isn't actually missing the door seal or part of it?!
So I noticed after a wash that my rear crew cab doors don’t match. Add this to the list.
Passenger side seems fine. This is the top back corner.

This is the driver side. The whole top back corner is sunk in. No accidents or anything like that. I’m sure I drove it off the lot like this. Luckily it’s sealing ok.

Well, if anyone is interested in the instruction I was given to fix my door...here goes.
My issue is that the drivers door doesn't close flush. Everything else is in alignment. Logically, I was instructed to loosen up the 2 bolts on the latch and then using a piece of wood and a hammer, whack it to shift it in a little. Obviously that will allow the door to close further in and flush.
The warning was that it "might" cause the door to be a little harder to close, but that it might also pop or snap when I open it due to there being more pressure on the latch. That was the biggest issue they warned me about.
They also warned me that the latch could also be bonded to the paint and whacking on it might need enough force to break it loose from the paint bond.
Once I get around to doing it myself, I can tweak it in and see if it both fixes the issue and doesn't cause the popping/snapping issue.
Sorry, the thought of you banging away on your new Ram sounds insane to me. I don't know who "they" are, but "they" are wrong. Take it to as many dealers as it takes to get it fixed, or at least message @RamCares to start a complaint.
For anyone who hasn’t taken delivery yet, check the vehicle out thoroughly before signing. You’ll be amazed at how fast they swing that vehicle into the service department and get it fixed, ready for after you sign.
I once bought a truck and the front bumper had a ding in it. I told them it would need to get fixed before I took it. The sales person told me they don’t have any in stock and they would give me a “we owe” order and order a bumper. I then pointed to another truck on the lot and said that bumper matches. The sales person disappeared and then 2 techs quickly came out and drove both trucks into the service area. A short while later, I took delivery of my fixed truck.
Let us know if that fixes the issue. I'm worried it's the door and not the hing. Also, make sure the hinges are color matched
My current list for when I go in for my free/first oil change at the dealer:
Upper glove box doesn't close correctly (light stays on).
Ambient light above upper glove box not uniform.
Rear doors misaligned
TSB for transmission software flash
Recall for power steering ground cable
Not as bad as some owners.
Any more info on this rubber insulator? Pictures?I visited my local Ram dealer on Sunday and looked at the new trucks that had just arrived and at trucks that have apparently been there awhile in inventory. I noticed about 1 out of 12 trucks had "driver side rear door" alignment issues. Two trucks looked as if the rear door had been pushed in by 1/8 of an inch on the right side of the door and the left part of the door was sticking out about 1/8 of an inch(The door was not flushed with frame of truck). Ridiculous. Also I was checking to see if the rubber insulator that fits between cab and bed(discussed on another thread) was missing. I noticed only about 8 trucks were missing the black rubber insulator.
Consider yourself lucky. Many of us have it much worse. Honestly, does not look bad at all, in a month or so you won't pay attention to it.I just picked this up yesterday, couldn’t see it at the dealer (maybe I was excited) now I can’t not see it!! View attachment 21297
Driver side rear seems to definitely be mid aligned! Advice???
My rear driver side door was mis-aligned much like yours. Dealer service fixed it in about 20 min.I just picked this up yesterday, couldn’t see it at the dealer (maybe I was excited) now I can’t not see it!! View attachment 21297
