Has anyone had this EVAP code pop up yet?

Just hit 7,000 miles on the truck. It came on about two weeks ago and I reset it. Just came on again today... reset it as I'm out of town next week and the dealer is booked up.

With Ford I heard of evap codes popping up from over filling the gas tank which messed up the evap system. Not sure if it relates.
This happened to me on both my Ford SUVs (2009 and 2013) and they weren’t covered by my extended warranty. Very frustrating.

Yeah pretty much anything now days with charcoal canister when pump kicks off leave it, it'll overfill into the canister and has to be replaced if bad enough. So everyone that squeezes every drop in, stop lol

I leave the nozzle on the fast fill setting and once it clicks off I'm done. I cleared the code so we'll see what happens.

FWIW, it doesn't pop up after I get gas or even the next few days. PITA as remote start won't work with the CEL on.

New 2019 Ram Limited had engine icon on when test drove. Salesman brought to shop where it was apparently overridden when truck brought back to me. Next day engine code warning light was on. Took to my old mechanic who explained it was EVAP pressure code. He overrode it and told me to get checked under warranty. Went to dealer for repair. Was told that EVAP Monitor ball was stuck in wrong position. They replaced monitor unit. Truck drives a bit smoother now and light has not reappeared since. Am hoping this will not be a recurring problem because of inexpensive plastic part.

I had the CEL come on the day after I purchased the truck took it to the dealership and they cleared it and said there was a flash for the computer they did. Hasn’t come on since. That was a month ago today. Makes me wonder if it has anything to do with the capless gas tank.

Just had mine pop on today. I cleared the code so hopefully it wont pop again. For those of you that had this code, was it just a one-and-done? Or has it been a continual thing??

No further issues with mine.

Mine popped at about 5,000 miles. I drove it for a couple weeks and it never cleared. I took it to the dealer and they ran an evap test and could not find any problems. They reset the code and it hasn't come back yet. I am at 6,500 miles now.

I had this come on a couple months ago and they reset it. It came on a week ago and I pulled the negative cable and it went away. It came back yesterday and I also smell what seems like coolant from the engine area and the skunk smell in the vehicle.

Hi sticker500,
We understand why this may be concerning. Please send our team a private message and we would be happy to look into this for you!

Last Thursday, the code popped for a second time. Got it looked at today (along with some other smaller items). They were unable to find any issues, so they cleared the code. Now we wait to see if it comes on again (it came on 2x in 2 weeks).

How many times does it have to appear before they take some action!?!?

I cleared it the first time myself (bluetooth reader and Android app), second time I figured I will let the dealership deal with it. Actually guided them to what some if the ideas were on this exact thread to try and help them out. Apparently the tested the line, started and stopped the vehicle 40x (wonder what that did to the starter) and it didn't come on again for them. I like the dealership and the service guys, so I am glad that its documented and discussed (and it's still under warranty). If it comes on again soon....yeah, something will have to be done on my end.

My dealer just called and said they can't find the source so they reset it again. They said it suggests checking when the tank is 95% full so next time it pops up, then I will fill it up and take it in
