Carli 2.0 commuter system

I just installed this system on my truck and this is the lift measurements I got on my rebel
Did you have to make any adjustment on preload? Is this the Carli Spec 2.5 or Carli Fox commuter?

Did you adjust the preload on the coil overs at all?
Shouldn't have to, we sell and install this kit often and most of the time, it doesn't need any adjustment, or very little as every truck does sit a little differently.

most of the time you don't as Carli has got it spec out pretty well for your average drivers.

remember this: Carli is good for 80% of the people out there. that 80% of the people include people who just throw money on suspension packages because they can afford it but never get them on dirt, to those people who run mildly high speed on the trails in the desert. Carli's tuning work for the average population, that may be you and that also may not be you.

If you're looking to be the remaining 20%, or what I call the "elite," aka the group of people who go really high speed in the desert to chase Raptors or run Baja for a whole week or run ~200 miles a day in the desert, or looking for a ride that is catered to how YOU drive, how YOU setup your truck, how YOU want it to ride, then Thuren will be your answer. All you have to do is talk to Don Thuren and he will get you squared away with his custom tuning.

how do I know? Well, when you go on runs (and get seat time) with a bunch of Ram truck people who've been doing this for a long time and were involved in product testing for these companies as well as participating in races, you pick up a thing or two and you experience these things in the most extreme environment. That's something internet sales who quote off brochures and technical write ups will not comprehend.

For me I'm in the 80%. Lots of Ground to cover in Montana with a generous speed limit. My use is gravel roads/BLM land but not looking to go high speed but sometimes do need to cover some ground. Spent a few hundred miles on gravel this last weekend and very pleased with the Carli plus it allows me to run a larger tire for more clearance. (I did 285/75)

If I was in the 20% it would seem like an RHO would be a better starting point and be much more cost effective. More power, 35's out of the gate and suspension already set up but I'm personally not a fan of the wide body so I do get it!!

The Carli commuter system will be perfectly fine for what you are doing with the truck. It is an excellent riding system out of the box with great low to mid speed offroad capabilities. Shoot me an email to [email protected] and I would be glad to get you some pricing and get a kit shipped to your doorstep!

I already have one install with about 5k miles on it

You are correct with this info! THANKS

Believe me I'm right there with ya. I can tell you for sure that my truck definitely has the ORP, or at least has all of the additional components (appropriate skid plates, rear axel lock, hill decent, etc.).

Regardless, the suspension was replaced with the carli commuter which should have negated whatever suspension was on it before. The tires are definitely 285/65/R20s, unless the sidewall is incorrect on all four of them...

I do know BFG KO2's run slightly smaller circumference wise, but not drastically.

I reached out to CJC Offroad; where I bought the kit; and they advised to adjust the collar in order to preload the coil over by about 1/2". I haven't done this yet as the kit was supposed to come set at the appropriate height from the factory and Carli advises against adjusting the collar any more as this could cause the spring to bind. Currently trying to research if I am able to tell based on where the collar is currently adjusted if I have room to adjust the preload more or not.

Based on my measurements, I feel like I ended up pretty much exactly where I was stock prior to the suspension/tire modifications. My truck doesn't sit horribly, but definitely not what I was going for, and I did a TON of research before pulling the trigger...
Hey, just curious about what you ended up doing with the front Carli COs being low on ride height?
Did you Preload them up?
Do the Carlis have to come off to adjust Preload? (not sure if they're aluminum or steel bodies?)

Honestly I haven’t gotten around to messing with it, have just been too busy. I am actually hoping to have it in the shop in the coming weeks to try and adjust the preload. Shop visually believes it shouldn’t be an issue but won’t know for sure until they try. My understanding is they have to come completely off the vehicle to adjust. I’ll report back once I know for sure.

Yes, it looks like the Commuters have aluminum bodies, so taking them off and using a compressor is probably mandatory unfortunately.
Would be curious to hear back how that works out for you.
