Carli 2.0 commuter system

Where would one find the Bilstein kit that you mention?
I tow to full capacity a few times a year so I have Timber Grove air bags in the rear, but I am dissatisfied with unladen ride quality and dislike the appearance of the added rake that the minimum air pressure in the bags results in.
I do mess around off road relatively frequently and would really like to put a set of 35" MT's on my Rebel, just not sure how to get her to do everything....

I just installed this system on my truck and this is the lift measurements I got on my rebel
Man I didn’t get anything near that! So much so that I’ve been debating adding a 1” spacer or body lift to make up the difference…

I got 38.25” front 40” rear with 285/65/R20 KO2s.

Truck looks great! 👍🏼

Looks great! Two questions: 1) What kind of hit on MPG?, and, 2) Is there any noticeable power decrease [felt...]?

Man, that does seem off.

My Laramie G/T stock was 36.875" front and 38.625" rear with OEM 275/55R20s (31.9").

I swapped in Eibach Pro-Truck struts on Clip #2 (0.625" lift) with ORP (1.0" lift) front springs and now am at 38.5" front and 38.625" rear with OEM 275/55R20s (31.9").

I'm 0.25" higher than you in front with a tire that is 2.6" shorter (1.3" less lift) than yours!!

Your numbers are ~1.3" higher than my stock OEM numbers..which correlate to your tires being 1.3" lift compared to my OEM tires...I have to assume you have NO level/lift etc done?? (I felt your post suggested you did..Carli Commuter w/ Rebel HD rear springs??)

No man you are spot on. I have the Carli Commuter for the Rebel (my truck is a Laramie with ORG) the Rebel HD springs and 285/65/R20s. I’m currently at approx 38.25” front and 40.25” rear. I can sorta understand the rear as I’m running the topper, decked drawers and recovery gear. But I don’t understand the front and definitely not happy with it. So much so that I reached out to the original manufacture regarding it.

I hear ya, and agree..the front seems way off!

Given your suspension setup, I'd expect you should be at about 40"+ front just from the Carli's.

Then add the 285/65R20, which should be about 34.5" tall, and I'd think you'd be another 1.3" higher at about 40.8" front and 41.3" rear.

My Laramie was 36.875" F and 38.625" rear stock..your Laramie ORP should have 1" from the ORPs and 0.5" from 33s..so you should have been about 38.375" F and 40.125" rear stock (using mine as a base..but these trucks vary a lot).

Carli Commuters supposedly are ~2.25-2.5" front lift on a non-ORP like mine..and ~1.25-1.5" on an ORP like yours.

My coffee isn't fully on board yet this morning, but adding this way, your L-ORP should be ~40.625" F and ~41.25" R.

Either your Laramie wasn't an ORP, or doesn't actually have the Carli & HDs installed or doesn't have 285/65s installed or the Front Carli's are way off adjustment or ???...I just can't figure it out...I can understand your frustration or disappointment, something's up!!🤔

Believe me I'm right there with ya. I can tell you for sure that my truck definitely has the ORP, or at least has all of the additional components (appropriate skid plates, rear axel lock, hill decent, etc.).

Regardless, the suspension was replaced with the carli commuter which should have negated whatever suspension was on it before. The tires are definitely 285/65/R20s, unless the sidewall is incorrect on all four of them...

I do know BFG KO2's run slightly smaller circumference wise, but not drastically.

I reached out to CJC Offroad; where I bought the kit; and they advised to adjust the collar in order to preload the coil over by about 1/2". I haven't done this yet as the kit was supposed to come set at the appropriate height from the factory and Carli advises against adjusting the collar any more as this could cause the spring to bind. Currently trying to research if I am able to tell based on where the collar is currently adjusted if I have room to adjust the preload more or not.

Based on my measurements, I feel like I ended up pretty much exactly where I was stock prior to the suspension/tire modifications. My truck doesn't sit horribly, but definitely not what I was going for, and I did a TON of research before pulling the trigger...

Those front struts HAVE to be off. Possibly they weren't setup correctly by Carli..someone missed something.

It’s a planted and cushiony feeling, I took it on a road trip from northern Nevada to California coast and I was very impressed. I would say it’s better than stock. The stock suspension always felt almost too soft and sloppy if that makes sense. Lowering the psi to 40 made it even more comfortable. I did loose mpg with the 35s and level. Previously I’d at best get around 23 highway at 80mph since I live at 5500 ft of elevation and now I get around 20 at 80 mph which is still pretty good. I will be doing some off roading and trailering here in the next months and update on the ride quality.
Little update, this suspension likes to be ridden hard and handles well. I found myself driving a lot faster and confident on dirt roads. Usually I would be going 40-45 max and it would feel like I was losing control and now I’m hitting 60 and not knowing until I look at the speed. It has become a very comfy truck. While trailering 10,000 lbs the truck does squat which I expected since it’s a soft truck I will probably end up getting air bags to help with the squat.
