I thought I would share this with everyone.

I took my 2019 Ram Laramie (MSRP $54,645) w/618 miles on it to Car Max today due to needing to waste sometime and being in the area of one. Car Max offered me $36,000. LOL They also told me they never saw a 2019 before.

Seems that these 19 Ram's won't keep their value to long.

I've heard of CarMax offering people 30k for 60k vehicles, I wouldn't use it as any sort of measure at all to be honest.

They hit me with a nearly 50% offer from an optioned out 2017 Grand Cherokee SRT...just a cool $40K off with less than 15K miles...told me because it was sold in Canada . Good thing I'll love it forever

Been thinking of trading in my 2010 Tundra on a Laramie Crew, lowest dealer offer was $11,500, KBB average trade is $12,500, and carmax offered me $9,000 even for it last night. Don't think this is a nine-thousand dollar truck, do you?

$9K! What does it have 400K miles on it? It looks to be in great condition. If you're just now considering why not see what being a private seller will net you. There's no reason you can't get several thousands more if you're willing to take the time IMO

Thanks, temporary learning curve with the upload, lol
Private sell that thing if you're not in a rush! You'll thank yourself later. Best offer I could get on my '07 Mustang (v6, pony pkg, 107k miles) was $5500. Took some pics of it, threw it on facebook and craigslist asking $8k, and someone came and bought it for $7700 in 3 days. So I'm glad I decided not to deal with trade-in; it makes new truck negotiating a little simpler too.

I ONLY do private party sale, as I keep meticulous records and am knowledgeable (and passionate) about them. Every time I’ve sold a vehicle, without exception, the first person to come out and look at it has taken it home. And usually at a price that is fair to both sides.

Haha... I'm getting $40k as a trade for my 2017 F150 Lariat. They're nuts!

Fantastic looking truck, can't believe that's all they're offering. One thing to keep in mind is that the 11,500 offer is really more like a 12,200 value with a sales tax credit. But when you're offering to buy a 50k truck, a dealer somewhere will absolutely give you the higher end of KBB.

I was able to get slightly over high end KBB on my 4 Durango.

Current KBB range is 16,289 - $18,166...dealer gave me $18,500 (negotiated 90 days ago)

that "killing of time" had to make you laugh. well worth the visit.

I will say they were good on my silverado when I price checked it. but it was pretty old.

I've sold 2 to CarMax and they were right at KBB on both of them. The other time I used 'em was to get a value on a trade to see if the dealer was getting over on me. I guess you can chalk it up to different locations give ya different prices.

January of this year they offered $27,000 for my F150. I received $30,000 trade value for it on my '19 Ram in June - with 15,000 more miles on it than in January!
