Just as an FYI...you might want to take a look at the Mark Dodge website. They have quite a few Laramies there with up to a $10k discount ($8.5k dealer discount + $1.5k Manufacturer rebates). So you can get a brand new $56k Laramie for $46k.

How hard would it be to remove the chrome side trim door pieces? Once those were off, I could swap the chrome side steps for black ones or remove entirely. The only thing left would be to paint the plastic grille part that is chrome into black. As far as exterior appearance it would seem that's all there is to making this 2021 I'm looking at into a Night Edition with the exception of the black accent on the nose of hood. Arh, scrath that. I just realized in the red, only Delmonico is offered for Night Edition.

I got a quote from them for a night edition. Optioned out sticker was 67, MD price 59,000. Great 12% below sticker but then I have to add 2500 for shipping. My budget is 55K, so it's moot anywayJust as an FYI...you might want to take a look at the Mark Dodge website. Ahh...2WD's. Nobody sells 2WD trucks around here, so that's why I haven't seen a Laramie that cheap.Yep, they have a few in that price range actually:

Vroom offered 39K for my Ranger.. Factoring in state sales tax in maine on new Ram wouldn't make it worth it to go with MD.Are the Carvanas, etc... still giving ridiculous amounts for used vehicles? Could you get enough more from them than the trade dealer to make an ordered and shipped vehicle from MD worthwhile?
Haha...I didn't notice that they were 2wd. Nevermind. Move along, these are not the droids you're looking for.Ahh...2WD's. Nobody sells 2WD trucks around here, so that's why I haven't seen a Laramie that cheap.

FYI, I just did carvana offer and they came back at 30,417. That's laughable.
I'm in Maine. MD quoted 1.25-1.35 per mileJust out of curiosity did you check autonation and carmax? Those were my highest bidders that I sold 2 vehicles to over the past 6 months. Normally I trade in due to the sales tax trade in credit but my offers from those two kept growing and growing until they became way way more than the difference in taxes (and extra $8,250 vs the extra $2500 in taxes). Never hurts to check if you have those options somewhat close by.
Also how far away from MD are you that shipping would be $2500? I'm 1500 miles away and paid about $1 a mile and that was a pretty high price compared to what it would be normally.
Nope...IMO it will look great. Search the Custom Offsets gallery and pics on this website. There are lots of non-Night Edition trucks with black wheels.I'm leaning towards the 2021 Flame Red Laramie, but want to get a set of 20" wheels. Aside from the chrome on the truck, some of which I might remove, would it look bad if I went with an all black rim like the Night rims? I obvioulsy don't want to get an all chrome rim, but the truck appearance might look worse with an all black rim
a set of the Ram rims are hard to come by in my area. Are there any aftermarket 6 lug rims that would be comparable and fit the 2021? I just need a set for the winter and I'll use the 22" wheels in summer.Nope...IMO it will look great. Search the Custom Offsets gallery and pics on this website. You can search Custom Offsets for a wheel that has the same offset as the stock wheels. I believe the stock wheels have a +12 offset. well doesn't look like I'm getting the 2021. They will not budge on price. While they gave me decent trade, I offered $1,000 less than what they were asking and said they could take it off the truck or add to my trade or combo. They said nope. I told them they've been sitting on this truck since August and have lowered the price a few times from 59,990 to current price of 56,750. They say market price is 62,000 and at 56,750, it's a great deal. If it's so great it should have sold by now, if not months ago. This is at a Land Rover dealer. Not sure that matters, but maybe a Ram dealer would be willing to deal just a bit more. I would have taken it if they met me halfway at 500 off. It's just a matter of principle now and I feel like if they wanted to make a deal, which they said in the beginning, then my offer seemed decent. I told them they'll likely continue sitting on it, decreasing the price 150 every couple weeks. They could have had it sold today, but guess not.
But if I try to build this same configuration in a 2022, it's around 64K, so used for me seems way less costly. All Maine dealers that I've checked with are only offering 1K off sticker for a new one. I really don't have to have a full size truck, as my Ranger will suffice, but the Ranger is somewhat cramped, has limited interior storage and the 10-speed tranny is a little clunky. The Ram test drives have all had that wow factor for me and thus, while I don't need it, it would be nice to have. Thankfully my wife agrees. But, we've got a financial limit of around 56K. It's just nuts how costly trucks are right now.Good for you for walking, there's a reason it has been there so long. In all honesty, going by what the world was prior to covid, that truck is overpriced $10,000-$15,000. I know that's not a great comparison to make now with how things are, but I'm sure that's why they haven't sold it (even though someone will get desperate enough to buy it). You could get a brand new truck for around the same price, whereas before you could save that $10-$15,000 for buying slightly used. That's the only reason I bought new this time, but my new truck vs used prices were even closer than your situation so it made my decision for me (and being able to get 0% buying new helped too).
Is that the price you got from the Ram website? If so, you should contact a dealer like Mark Dodge. They might be able to get really close to your budget, including shipping. I built my truck for 65k on the Ram website and I paid 59k.
