How well do the shocks ride when they are at their full lifting height? I have a Rebel, so if I put it at the clip that gives me the 2 inch lift light do I have worse ride quality with the shock than if it was at one of the settings that gives you less lift?

I don’t have mine installed yet but the ride should get rougher if you go with a higher lift. The way it works, you are compressing the spring to achieve lift which will in turn give you a higher spring rate and a rougher ride. Some people dislike it, others have no issue with it. I have seen some rebel owners on the 5100 start at setting 5 (max) and end up taking it back apart because the ride was rougher.

I did a lot of looking too before I did my setup. My truck is a non orp truck. I wanted around 3in. I wanted to keep my stock wheels for now. So after reading I peiced a kit together
Front
OPR spring
Bilstein 5100 setting 5
Mopar lift UCA
Raer
Bilstein 5100
Mofab 2in spacer
Ready lift bump stop extender
Parts Cost around $700-800 i can't remember. I got around 3 1/4 front and 2 rear but mine is a V6 but grill guard added some weight. Might settle alittle only drove 60 miles so far.Probably not the best kit and way better stuff available View attachment 71912
Just curious as I am trying to figure this all out, too. I am the second owner of my 2019 Laramie and I notice they had put a spacer in (2 or 2.5" aluminum) and aftermarket UCA. I dont know the brand, cant figure it out. Was suggested to me by a very knowledgeable guy on here to actually remove the spacers and JUST go with the 5100's to get that couple extra inches as they dont recommend spacers. I see you did both, was that to get the total of 3.25?

I did the bilstein 5100 setting 5 for the 2in and ORP springs for the other 1in but ended up getting 3.25. My goal was 3in total. Still waiting to see if it settled at all. I have around 300 miles on this setup. I really like it, it does ride a little stiffer but don't think its that bad.

If you're considering the Bilstein 5100s but can't find them in stock check out the Eibachs. I'm receiving mine Thursday and getting them installed next week. I'll be updating posts and may make a thread for them.

Definitely keep us posted with your progress please. I called Eibach last week and they said they were finishing up testing on their coilover and pro truck systems for our trucks. I was given the impression that their adjustable struts had to be used in conjunction with their springs as well. Can you tell us,, what parts did you order and was it from Eibach directly? Thanks bud.

What they told me was the strut will provide up to 1.8in of lift on its own and when combined with their springs, you get the full 2.75in lift potential.

Talk to Nick at GotExhaust.com he is a pro, helpful and responsive and above all knowledgeable. I pre order the CO shocks and rear strut set from Eibach from them. Wont be here until at least January but its 100% the way to go... or the Bilstein Co set. Not only gives you the lift but the handling will be much improved. I put a Hellwig sway bar on my truck and it was alot tighter, but I still have some drift or bounce and sway on my Northeast back roads with the stock shocks and springs and the 2" spacer and aftermarket UCAs the previous owner put on. I am hoping these will be a better performer and be done the 'right' way.

From my research they shouldn't be any different than the 5100s in their functionality and seem to be a direct competitor.

I just got the fronts for what it's worth though. I could see the rears potentially being different and requiring their springs.

That’s where I bought my Eibach’s. Should be here any day. I also just bought the front shocks. From what I read their instructions were different when using their springs. The ride heights in the pic below are for OEM springs. I’m not going over the 1.8 setting with the ORP springs.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Eibach didn’t collaborate with Bilstein on their shocks, Eibach already provides springs to Bilstein(the ones on the 6112 are made by Eibach). Either way they look like a much better setup than stock or a leveling spacer and Im looking forward to seeing them on your guys’ trucks(y)

Everyone please give your input...I just stumbled upon this and not sure if it's brand new or i missed it somehow.. But Rough Country offers fully built coilovers now on their 3.5in lift! $1100 for the full kit with upgraded rear shocks to V2 monotubes as well. Thoughts on this?? My finger is on the trigger...

I personally don’t have experience with RC’s shocks or kits but I do plan on eventually upgrading my UCAs using theirs. Others here have used the UCAs with success and said the build quality is very good.Ive read and heard of others having issues with RC stuff in the past and Ive also heard of other being happy. If I was in the market for a full 3.5 kit I would consider it as an option. In terms of quality and off-road capability I still think the Bilstein 6112(or 5100) & 5160 is the best for the money, your just not getting the amount of lift as you would with the RC kit.

Dealer quoted $1950 installed price for the RC lift with struts and v2 mono tubes in rear. Thoughts? Around $750 of that would be for labor. Never had a dealer install a lift kit before. Thanks.

They told me that $2400 would be the retail and full install price but would do it for $1950 which still seems steep. For $2400, I’d tell them to go pound sand.

Had my dealer quote me a similar price when I first got my truck back in Feb. Figure most dealerships’ hourly rate is anywhere from $115-$175 per hour, installation would probably take 4-5 hours and if theyre including alignment that seems about the right price

750 for labor would put it at 150/hr for 5 hours which is believable. Took me 3 hours I think to pull my front springs, put spacers on, reinstall. Didn't replace the UCA's, so that's extra work. Also, if they're throwing an alignment in with that cost that's pretty good as they range $90-140.

Thanks for the input everyone, I really appreciate it. Here’s a small update:
1) I have ordered the Rough country 3.5” kit with the front struts and upgraded V2 mono tube rear shocks. Ordered through my shop, parts, labor and alignment: $1500.
2) Gibson has shipped my cat back system. Should be here Friday
3) wheels/tires: this is keeping me up at night. I think I’ve got it narrowed down so I’ll share what I have so far; (side note) I have to purchase through Discount Tire
Wheels:
1. Method nv605 black 20x9 -12 offset
2. Raceline gauge 950b 20x9 0 offset (leaning Towards these)
3. Black Rhino Barstow (black or bronze?) 20x9 +18 offset
4. Most interesting/unique: Fifteen52 Turbomac HD (co-designed by Ken Block) black or bronze 20x9 -12 or +18 offset
Tires:
1. General grabber Atx 35x12.5r20
2. Yokohama geolandar x-at 35x12.5r20
3. Cooper discoverer at max 35x12.5r20
4. Goodyear wrangler ultra terrain at 35x12.5r20
Ready to buy now, just have to decide

Mods: if I need to move this to a “build thread” please let me know.

Also having them throw on a set of the Icon dual rate rear springs instead of using the spacers from the RC kit.
