BDS 4" vs. Rough Country 5" for 2020 Air Suspension

I’ve got the 5in RC lift on my 2020 limited with air ride. Only have 500 miles on it so far but no complaints yet. Was initially going to go with the bds, which supposedly does work on the 20’s but they were back ordered and I didn’t want to wait.
Hey Diddy, just checking in to see how your loking your RC lift. I have a ram 1500 with the air ride as well and trying to determine to go with the RC or BDS kit. Thanks! Tim

I helped my tech do the install, and we didn't run into anything different on my 2020, compared to a 2019 we had in the shop at the same time, that would require any changes to the 2019 kit. My truck's production date is 11/3/2019, so it was an early 2020. Maybe there is a difference in the later production 2020's. I spoke with BDS when I ordered my kit and they assured me their "no fine print" "no questions asked" parts warranty would not be compromised on my install. Honestly, the parts in this kit are so robust and well built, that I doubt there would ever be any issues. The knuckles that come with kit are CNC machined, and made from some of the heaviest iron I've ever seen. The kit seems to be very "over built".
I have a 2021, and I was wondering the same thing. If the kit for a 2019 or 2020 will fit. They have different part numbers from BDS...

Wondering if anyone has a 2021 Limited on factory 22's and has installed either the BDS or RC lift.

Leaning towards RC for that extra inch as I plan to run 35x12.5 on the factory 22" rims. Also planning on adding spacers but unsure whether to go 1" front / 1.5" rear or 1.5" front and 2" rear. Any thoughts here or anyone who's added spacers and had issues with rubbing?

Mine is a 2020 but everything you want to do is what I did. I would go 1” or 1.5” spacers in the front. I did 2” all around and it looks great but I had rubbing issues in the front that required me to trim the inner plastic. Not a big deal but also not ideal.

I went ahead and did 1.5" up front and 2" for the rear. Also, getting the RC lift, just waiting for installer availability.

Love the truck and the stance! Exactly what I'm going for. What suspension height is that pic? (Normal, OR1, OR2)

With the RC lift, can you still use all levels of Air Ride control? (Entry/Exit, Aero, Normal, OR1, OR2)

I noticed in the Q&A on their website, RC said you can't use OR1 or OR2 after the lift.

All modes work the same.

That was in OR2. With the 2” spacers up front I always go there when parking or anywhere I have to make tight turns

What’s up everybody. I went with the BDS kit with 35” tires on 20x10 wheels. The ride is pretty smooth from what I can tell since Hawaii has some crappy roads. There was rubbing when in normal mode and I corrected that by removing the little mud flaps. The tires barely catch the wheel liner while in aero mode. I posted pics of the truck in the different modes.
1. Entry/exit
2. Aero
3. Normal
4. Off road

Looks great! This is what I will be doing as well. What offset on your wheels did you go with? Little surprised they rubbed at all.

The offset is -18. Unfortunately I can’t take any more photos due to being away on business. I was surprised as well.

Finally got my RC 5 inch lift installed today. Love the way it looks. I went with Toyo AT3 295/55R22 since they were only $400 per tire vs $500 for 35x12.5 (basically same size tire) on the factory black 22" rims. I have 1.5" spacers up front and 2" in the rear. There is minor rubbing up front on a full lock turn unless I'm in OR1 or OR2 (which I'm fine with instead of trimming the plastic on my brand new truck).

The only issue I've encountered so far is a little bit of front end vibration/shudder when accelerating from a stop. It only happens in the first couple gears and below 20 mph. No issues going any faster than that. I wasn't able to get a front end alignment today so I'm not sure if that will fix the issue or if it's due to the driveline angles messed up now. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue or if the alignment will cure it? Will grab some pics once the sun is back out!

Hey all
I have a 2019 Limited but it’s a 2WD. Will any of these suspension lifts work for a 2WD with air suspension? My 33s are ready to be replaced so thought I’d lift it and get 35s.
Thanks

Beautiful truck!! What is the height from ground to center bottom of fenders in normal mode? And does off-road 1 and 2 still work?
I can grab measurements later this afternoon. But I can confirm that all air ride modes still work after the lift.

EDIT: Measurements are below. Keep in mind my tires are 295/55R22 which is a 34.8" by 12.2" tire versus a 35x12.5 which is really only a 34.5" tire. Running 45 PSI front and 40 PSI rear.

Ground to center bottom of fender:

Normal: 44" front, 43.5" rear (Although, the driver's side measures 43", passenger is 44" so I need to take back to the shop and figure out why there is a 1" discrepancy.)

OR1: 45.25" front, 45" rear

OR2: 46" front, 46" rear

Also, in normal mode there is a 9.5" gap between tire and fender.

I believe your only option for 2wd with the air ride is a leveling kit. Which, from what I've seen, you can run 35s after the level.

Can anyone confirm if you can run 325/60R20 BFG KO2’s with the BDS 4” kit on a 2020/21 Limited w/Air ride without rubbing issues?

I see that Utemachine ran them with the RC lift, wondering if any rubbing with the BDS kit....
