BDS 4” lift kit vs Stock ride. How do they compare.

Looking at getting a 4” BDS with 35” nitto’s and fuel 20X10 -18 tires. Anybody have any comments on ride quality Offroad and paved roads? Anything that you noticed or didn’t like?
Thanks!
I did the 4” BDS with 315/60r20 (35x13) Toyo RTs and the ride is amazing! The tires are stiffer, but not nearly as bad as I thought it’d be, and the suspension itself feels unchanged for the most part. I’m 100% happy with it! It still feels like a luxury vehicle on the road, but I guess a little stiffer feeling Offroad, so I plan on adding bilstein 5100s all around to give it a little better ride both on and off road.

Does anyone know what the truck height is with 35's on the 4in and 6in BDS lifts...Im sure the 6in is +2 but you never know with these applications...want to roll with the 6in but want to check parking garage and car wash heights before I pull the trigger :)
My truck with the 4” and 35s is sitting just about at 79.5” tall at the top of the shark fin antenna, but my rear is stock currently! It is squatting way too much in the rear so I’m going to lift it 1.5”-2” soon. So I expect the overall height to be roughly 81”-81.5”

The 4" BDS should ride better as it is only using a top mount strut spacer, no preload spacer. The BDS also comes with the needed drop brackets to correct the suspension geometry that the Readylift kit does not. So, technically the BDS lift will not wear out the factory components like the Readylift will.
I can confirm the BDS kit keeps all the geometry perfect! My CV angles & UCA angles are 100% perfect, better than factory!

So those of you with the BDS 4” lift, did you stick with those NX shocks, or did you go with the Fox 2.0 ?

Thanks...why is it squatting so much? I thought the BDS leveled it...you shouldn't have to do anything else after the install unless you're trying to get some rake back.

I want to use the entire kit, just not sure if I want 18” wheels or 20” ones...

I have the same tires....love them...Im running 40psi and they're perfect...what does you truck look low in the rear? Was something installed or possibly not installed?

I ordered the Fox shocks which upgrades the rear in hopes that BDS will release the 4" coilovers for the front at some point.

Oh nice man! It’s a rare size for sure! I got them for a killer deal so I pulled the trigger! I actually run about 36-39 depending on the outside temp and they’re great. Yeah my truck is completely stock in the rear right now. I purposely didn’t order the rear half of the BDS kit because it says it lifts the front 4” and the rear 3” so I figured it would maintain the factory rake which I didn’t want. The shop agreed that 3” in the rear was too much so they talked me into leaving the rear stock & then decide if I want to lift it. One thing I didn’t realize is that if you lift only the front then it’ll raise more than if you lift the front and rear together (because of physics). So ultimately the front of my truck raised 4.75” and the rear actually lowered .5” from stock. It looks goofy now though so I need to lift the rear. I’m thinking 2” will do the trick. I still think the BDS 3” in the rear will make the rear too high. I like the front sitting about .5” high.

Think in his original post he said that the back was still stock.

It is 100% based on personal preference, but for me I thought i wanted 18s but after I saw it in person I didn’t like it at all. I absolutely love the 20x10s and 35s. The -24 offset is perfect & the amount of tire is great. I can rub up against curbs or rocks all day and not scratch the wheels because the tire is still beefy enough :)

So you are saying those without Rebels / ORG they should stick with 6” BDS lifts ?

No, the 4" and 6" kits will both still have a bit of rake for non Rebel/ORP trucks. BDS 4" is 4" front, 3" rear. BDS 6" is 6" front, 5" rear for standard Rams. If you want your truck to be closer to level for either kit you would need ORP or Rebel front struts/springs for the extra inch up front. Not sure if their coilovers can make up the difference or not.

Thank you kindly for that explanation. Now I know what to expect once installed.

The BDS kits level your truck or maybe give you a half in of rake....I didn't know you could only order half of their kit LOL.....Id get the rest of the kit with their Fox shocks and call it a day!
