My backup camera just started glitching this morning. See picture.

Mine went black. I've had the camera and wiring harness replaced. Now it is in to have the central vision processing module replaced.

Where is the CVPM located in the vehicle? The dealer ordered one but they said it's national backorder.

I have no idea. STARS told them to replace it with a "known good unit" So I'm wondering if my dealer took one from another one on the lot.

Just talked to dealer. The one they found was not compatible. They are trying some other things now. WHen they unhooked the camera and redid it, it worked. They may be ordering another camera. Seems it could be a bad batch.

2 days after buying my new 1500 I tried the driver seat heater and it didn't work. 2 days later the backup camera went black. This is not what I expect from a new vehicle.

Fortunately, both easily fixable. Just be happy it's still driveable so you can enjoy your new truck. Less than two months into ownership mine died and sat at the dealer for 5 weeks while the crackerjack engineers at FCA tried to figure out what was wrong with the Etorque so they could instruct the dealership on how to fix it.

Purchased the Quad Cab model back in August and I would guess the back up camera worked 50% of the time. Took it in today and they got no error codes so dealer took no action (had other work done, oil change and running boards installed). I was told the issue had to occur while they had it. With a 50% failure rate I figured it wouldn’t work when I left. It didn’t, so I left the truck running and grabbed the service rep. They check the codes then finally tell me there is a bulletin on the back up camera. They’ve got to do a hard reset and disconnect the battery. If that doesn’t resolve the issue only then are they compensated for replacing the camera. Only driven it once and it worked, but with a 50% failure rate we’ll see if the hard reset corrected the issue. Bottom Line, be advised, there’s a bulletin on the back up camera.

They are replacing my CVPM. Supposed to arrive next week.

700 miles and my back up camera is showing only a blue screen. I guess it back to dealer

My backup camera on the surround view would either stay black or eventually work after driving for 10 min. But flicker. After replacing the camera and wiring harness to no avail, STARS told them the replace the CVPM. I can say after having that put in that the problem has been rectified.

I got a green screen yesterday. I also get the blue screen daily now.

Mine went black after 9400 miles. Now it just says check surroundings. So far since Nov, I’ve had head lights replaced, brakes worked on 3 times cause of a deep squeal when backing, I have a front end “popping” when turning right and the dealer can’t figure it out, my dash lights have flickered off and on several times, had the power switch on drivers seat replaced, and Apple Car play has stopped working more times than I can count. Lol

The truck runs great and feels great, but if I had to do it again, I would buy another Ford. When this one get close to warranty expiring, I’ll go back to Ford.

Would you be able to post the TSB here? There is a separate issue where the uConnect audio is cutting in/out, regardless of source (AM/FM/SAT/Bluetooth/etc), where the backup camera guidelines also disappear. It looks like this issue is tied to the backup camera, which could be also tied to this issue. Please see links below:

I have been having the same issue since I bought my truck (2019 1500 Bighorn). Brought it to the dealer and it started working. I was told to take a picture when it happens, not sure what that is good for? It happens when I open and close the tailgate (sometimes) other times it just doesn't work. Then it starts working!!! Not very happy with a brand new truck and the dealer has no clue about a problem like this. From this forum I am not the only one having the issue...

Absolutely blows my mind that over the last week I was dealing with dome lights, tailgate release and call button not working Then get it fixed yesterday and today go to back up and my camera is not working. The wonderful blue screen. I know they’ll be some issues but a 70,000 dollar truck and then a whole slew of problems arise. Not to mention actually getting someone to answer or call back from the dealership is another problem in itself.

What did they do to fix your dome lights and tailgate release? And how long did they have the truck. Mine just quit working as well

Well add me to the list of the blue screen of death. 400 miles on the truck and have had multiple issues so far. I still love this truck, but this is getting pretty frustrating...
