Back up camera

After 2500 miles on my truck, my surround camera does not work this morning. Try turn off and on the truck several times but the camera doesn’t work when back up or press the surround view camera. Don’t know what happen.

bought ram 1500 for 3 days, the back up camera goes to blue screen......
the dealership can not fix the problem perfectly...
The camera works in the morning, but can not work in the afternoon......

Hi namhoang22 and kevin2018,

We are sorry to hear that you are having this concern with your new Ram trucks. Please send us a PM with your VIN and mileage so that we can investigate this situation further.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this issue. Two separate days now, weeks apart it's been a black screen the first few times I've put it in reverse in the morning.

For those that received the software update, was it at the dealership or over the air?

I've had this happen several times so far. It will stop working then turn the truck off and a half hour later it works. It's very intermittent.
Did the dealer fix the issue? Is it a bad camera or what?

It just again happened today the camera is Black when in reverse...time for a dealer visit.

Just picked up truck after third trip to the dealership, and everything is now working good with the cameras. They replaced the "module" after I was experiencing a blue screen with the backup cam. When I picked it up the second time (had to order parts the first time), all camera views were working but without the lines, and the surround view did not work. Had to take it back to allow the dealership to recalibrate the system, which involved driving 8 miles with cars on each side of the truck (I am guessing they took it on the highway). Regardless, surround camera system is back to its original glory now.

Do the trucks with the 360 camera system have a camera in the CHMSL that provides a view of the bed?

Having this issue as well with my '19 1500 Big Horn that i bought back in September. The camera works maybe 10% of the time. Usually i put the truck in reverse and i get a black screen with "Check Surroundings" on the top. Dealership checked all of the wiring/connections and the said it all looked good. The dealership contacted Chrysler and they said its a software issue and they are now developing an update for it. The whole situation has been very frustrating.

750 miles on the truck.....having the same camera issue. Black / blank screen and then bright blue screen of death like a PC. Frustrating.

Update: Visited the dealer today, they saw the blue screen, ran a diagnostic via OBD, and confirmed my camera is bad.....they’ll be ordering me a new camera, not installing an update to the software per the TSB. Ironically, camera must have gotten scared, because it decided to work later this afternoon. I’m still trying thinking electronic gremlin, but I guess I’ll take the new camera and see if the issue resolves. Either way....frustrating.

Mine doesn't black out completely, but first thing in the morning it has what is best described as black ghosting type artifacts around the top view of the truck in reverse. It doesn't do it later in the day, but first thing when it has been sitting outside in the cold.
