Auto headlight sensor...

Its in the housing around the rearview mirror. If you look on the outside thru the windshield into the cab you will see it. At least that is where it is on my 19

Thanks, I'll take a look.

Hang on…if you’re talking about automatic headlights, as in, you put the headlight switch on auto and the headlights automatically come on when it dark enough, that sensor is the “bubble” in the center of the dash where the windshield meets the dash.
If you’re talking about automatic high beams, that sensor is by the rear view mirror.

Yes, that's what I meant. I saw that bubble on the edge of my speaker grill and thought it might be the sensor. Thanks.

How do I know if the sensor is bad?? My head lights stay on even if I'm on the auto setting

That’s what I thought too, but the bubble on the dash is a sunlight load sensor for the climate control system. The auto headlight sensor is on the windshield by the rear view mirror. I confirmed this by covering the bubble sensor during the day and the headlights did not come on. When I covered the sensor on the windshield the headlights came on. I mainly wanted to know as I am going to get my windshield tinted and didn’t want the auto headlights to be affected by the lower light coming through the windshield.

You have a 2025. My post you quoted is from 2021, so I couldn’t have possibly been referring to the way 2025’s function.
We need to remember that 2025’s are completely different than the previous years, and we can’t use electrical information between them anymore (and it’s probably time they make separate forum sections for 2025+).
Your 2025 uses the humidity light rain sensor on the windshield by the mirror for automatic headlamps.
Previous years used the solar sensor bubble in the dash for automatic headlamps. There are two versions for that the solar sensor- the base one that has two circuits for auto headlamps only, and the ATC version that has 4 circuits for auto headlamps and sun load for auto climate control.

I would advise him to go test it for himself to confirm. When discussing windshield tint several 2019-2024 members thought the sensor was in the mirror/windshield.

Did you by any chance hit the light switch with your knee and dislodged the back of it, happened to a coworker, he snapped the back of the switch back in and was good to go.
I can turn the switch and it seems to respond. The gauge cluster and the radio screen will change. I'm new to dodge. I'm from gm.

I think I have figured it out. The day time running light option was on in the settings under lights. I turned it off. I'm gonna drive it tomorrow and if I remember I'll report back.

I have my windshield tinted 15% with a sun strip and I have no issues at all with my auto headlights. I’ll attach a picture of how far down my strip comes so you have a reference and you should be good. Strong warning though make sure that the BCM under the dash on drivers side is covered and the tinted uses minimal water for application. It will dry your dash screen and possibly fry the BCM is not careful!
