I purchased my Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi with e-torque, Lone Star edition, 4X4, brand new back in July 2023. It has been a fantastic truck, the fourth half-ton I've owned, the others were all F-150's, one with the 5.0 and the other two with the 2.7 ecoboost. Granted, being retired at the young age of 55, I don't really go anywhere and after almost 2.5 years of ownership, I only have 22,600 miles as of today, so not many miles. But it has been flawless in terms of reliability. This Ram is better than my F-150's in terms of quality, driveability, etc. Granted, this one was more expensive, maybe you get what you pay for, but my F-150's were not that far off. It is not the fastest, as my 2.7's both had custom tunes and even if I tuned my 5.7, the 2.7's would walk it. But I didn't buy my Ram for the 1/4 mile. I bought it to haul my service dog around, tow things here and there, carry stuff when needed, etc.
I don't know if this will be my forever truck, or a short term truck (to me, short term is 4-5 years of ownership). I did drive a 2026 Ram Warlock with the Hurricane and boy, I liked that motor!!! The low and mid range torque was just as good as my tuned 2.7's. But I also really like naturally aspirated V8's, so I'm keeping my 5.7 for now. Of course, if Ram puts the 6.4 into the 1500, I'm buying that. If not that, maybe the Ram HD Power Wagon, big fan of that truck. But this Ram truck has made me a fan and for now, brand loyal.
