Apple map directions on dash using CarPlay - any way to disable?

I generally use Waze, but when using Siri for directions, it defaults to Apple map. When this happens, the directions are duplicated over the speedometer on the main dashboard. I have looked for ways to disable this function, but it is not obvious to me. Here is a photo showing what I am seeing.

Why do you not want that. I really like that feature on my vehicles.
