So I was using an old iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 14.4, which according to Ram, should be compatible with Uconnect 8.4. Well the same issues started to occur that I am having with my iPhone 12 with iOS 16.1.2. So this is definitely a Ram/Uconnect issue. I’m really hoping they get this issues figured out asap. We spend anywhere from 38k-60k on these trucks. We should not be having issues.

Talked with some Ram Uconnect specialists on the phone today, he said Uconnect is only compatible with iOS 15.6.1 and anything before that, that’s why we are having issues. I have an old iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 14.4 and it didn’t give me any issues. So I’m assuming that’s the problem. I did talk to a service advisor at a dealership today, he said Ram is releasing an update for Uconnect at the beginning of 2023.
But as to why we are having issues it’s because Uconnect just isn’t compatible with iOS 16 yet.

Hopefully that’s true for updates. But mine had this issue with IOS 13 when I bought the truck. I’m still on iOS 14 as I can’t update it with my PC due to windows 7 iTunes issues, but it still does it. My girls phone is fully updated and newer and also does the samething in my truck. Her ride is a 2020 Cherokee without nav, same unit basically but does not have this issue.

I’ve found there is good days and bad. Sometimes I’m like wow it’s great. Other days it’s terrible. I’ve thought it was low cell coverage causing issues but even on airplane mode it doesn’t help.

So is it a bad batch of radios or what? Because I hear some people have no issues at all.

2022 Jeep Compass , Apple CarPlay causes driver side speakers to periodically malfunction.

Also: Not sure if it’s Apple CarPlay or just UConnect, but only after about 30+ minutes of constant driving, volume slowly lowers itself until silent. Even if hashmarks are full bars. Cycling through Sirius, FM, or basic screen beeps are silenced.

Even stopping the vehicle and performing factory reset under the radio tab only fixes the issue for about 10 minutes. During road trips, this is absolutely frustrating.

Opened a case with UConnect rep today, awaiting my solution.

I’ve had this issue since the day I bought my truck. I was actually able to have my dealer replace my radio last week but to no avail. Did the exact same crap on the way home from the dealer. I’m going to call and see what the next steps are. I’m with you guys, 100% unacceptable for something that cost 50k. @RamCares fix this problem.
