Having the lightbar in the position where its at compared to when I had it behind the bumper grill makes a huge difference. The KC 40" curved light bar lights everything up nicely and the 4" KC LZR LED pods are perfect for having them at an angle as apposed to being straight. Makes it easy to distinguish the size of boulders or ruts on the side of the trails.

Are you suggesting the grill mesh reduced light output significantly on the 20” bar, or simply the difference between this 40” bar compared to the 20” bar behind mesh is the major difference.

Hot dang that bumper and light kit looks great. I’ve taken enough measurements to know I can fit a 37-38” bar in my stock bumper with room to put the parking sensors outside of it. Trying to decide if I go through the trouble to design brackets and sensor holders for it, or just hit the easy button and go with the hidden 20” bar.

I actually had a 32" light bar behind the grill but the position is kind of low and the mesh blocks out a portion of the flood lights so it was more of a spot light. Its way better than nothing and I do suggest that mod if you like to keep light bars hidden! But I would get a spot pattern light bar rather than a combo. My ditch lights on my hood do a good job and ligting everything up good at a close range. A 32" looks way better than the 20" for sure. Theres a lot of room on the sides of a 20" and it looks kind of empty in a way.

Thanks for that. Looks good! If you have any tips on mounting the 32” bar, I’m all ears. I’m driving a Laramie so have to find a good way to either relocate the parking sensors or just put the light bar behind the open grill mesh.

This was probably answered in another thread somewhere, but when you had the light behind the mesh... did you notice any pattern or distortion on the ground? The only reason I hesitate to do a light bar behind the mesh is for that reason as I know that would give me eye strain.

Truck looks awesome BTW.

No not at all. I just noticed it reduced light output by about 25% when I compared the bar outside of the mesh in front of the bumper.

that what i have
When you upgrade your fogs, do they still automatically turn on individually when you make a turn from a slow roll or stop? I kind of hate that programming so i think it will erk me more if i upgraded the fogs and it still did that.

Why don't you just leave them on all the time? I could see that as annoying if you upgrade to some brighter ones lol

I installed a Tazer DT to program my fogs for always on whenever my factory fog switch is enabled. It was driving me bonkers that they only turned on while turning.

I ran a 22" between the parking sensors behind the mesh grill. (It really helps out with thick fog.) The mounts were ordered directly out of the Rough Country kit. (I just bought the mounts and not the entire kit.)

I installed BD LP6 Pro's using zRoadz hood mounts. Works fine. Have driven up to 100mph (legal here on a few highways in the UAE) and no issues. Lots of bug splats all over them though...he he

I just install this 20 inch bar behind the grill using a bar and brackets bought off of Amazon. I also bought a horizontal switch bracket that I 3M tapped under the radio so nothing has holes except the firewall grommet. I am still waiting on my horizontal switch to come in, this mounting option allows me use both console media ports.
