Haha...welll depending on the person. Big old Truck drivers would only say that semi are true trucks.

Folks that only drive small cars would think that a midsized truck or even half car/half truck is also big for them.

In this case, I try to stick to the midsized truck....just because it has a payload and towing numbers. I even know that some folks call the 1/2 ton trucks and just large vans.

I'm seeing some spread in the reported prices. TFL reports that the Maverick starts at 244,980 BRL, compared to 239,990 BRL for the Rampage, making the Rampage about $2,000 less expense.

Either way, it's a mistake to take these Brazilian prices and assume that Ram is overpriced compared to the competition, or that they'd list it at $50K+ if they sold it in the US.

Article states that the rampage has a higher price in the Brazilian market..because of the premium trims.

U.s. market is going to get a watered down trims and package. Not impressed.

I don't know how well the Maverick sells in Brazil, but the Rampage is competive with its pricing. So if Ram is making a mistake, so is Ford.

Likewise, if Ford Maverick sells well in the U.S. at its price (which it does), then we can reasonably expect the Rampage to sell well, too. And in my biased opinion, the Rampage beats the Maverick in the looks department hands down.

The one thing Ram has going for it is the history of the Dakota. If they can match that with the new option(not the Rampage) then they should sell well. The Rampage is a compact truck, not midsize.

Gotcha...then that's even worse because if it's a compact, they are literally competing for the same business in their own company with fiat and the fiat strada...which is also a compact. The strada...if my googling is accurate owns 50% of the market in Brazil. And they just redesigned it last year. They also have the fiat Toro in South America

The Rampage is a Fiat Toro. Slightly different metal on the same platform. Think Silverado and Sierra.

Regardless of price, I really like the Rampage. Not really in the market for such a thing, but I like the styling over the Maverick and Santa Cruz.

That picture is a TRX, not a Dakota. And I feel the Dakota never came to fruition as I haven't heard anymore about it
