Adding back seat usb and or 110

Thanks a lot. This helps. No screw there but can add a self tapper. Thanks. Sorry you had to rip apart but it did help

i was woundering if the metal frame would make ground. Now I know.
No problem, was glad to do it. Retirement gives the time to handle these things, lol.

Old thread but knocked this out in my 19 2500. Took all of 30min existing harness has a common (black) and tapped the power for the existing USB in the center console. 2 taps and done

I assume you just tied into these wires. Can you tell me if it was Black/Black and Red/Red Gray and if you have had any issues since being installed. Do you think the wires are heavy enough to add a 12V outlet too?

I tapped into the fuse panel for the hot. Shot a screw into the console base for the ground.

I ordered a 12v that has a cigarette adapter and 2 USB ports. Just going to tap into the fuse panel under the dash and run a wire back. I have zero desire to have the back ports media capable, I juts want charging options for back seat passengers. I have a stand alone inverter I can use if the need for 120v ever comes up.

Now I just need to find my motivation to put it in.
Do you have a picture or the link of the one you ordered? I’m the same, zero desire for media, just want charging ports for my kids in the backseat.

did anyone ever get the part number to add this rear media hub/inverter?
Local dealer just quoted me $700 for the wiring harness alone. $2500 for all parts and labor!! WTH! He did give me a part number for the wiring harness. 68731367AC Does have ANY info on aftermarket parts such as the harness or anything? I honestly want a "plug n play" without having to splice into any wiring. Any info will be greatly appreciated! I have searched and searched threads and haven't found anything yet other than adding usb plugs by drilling into the console and splicing wires. (Or running wires to the fuse box under the hood.)

Look on Amazon for a double usb setup. I went with the aluminum one over plastic, just my opinion, more solidly built. I posted on the whole job which is really not hard, take your time & you'll be surprised just how easy it is. I'm in the middle of removing my center console & installing ambient lighting, watching youtube videos and checking out diagrams. Good luck!

You’d think that mopar would have a connection that plugs right into the wiring harness where it goes up to the armrest usb, like an oem splitter. But last I found was a completely new wiring harness from front to back. Ridiculous.

Are these the micro fuses? Do you have a link to the fuse tapping kit you used?

(Pict. 1) Pop the top trim off, 5 clips using a plastic pry tool. (Pict. 2)Then there are 2 bolt/screws to undo. (Pict. 3) The whole back of the console pulls off (start pulling out from the bottom) working your way up. (Pict. 4) USB ports installed. Bingo, you're there & once you do it, it is so easy!
Did this last night just to see what I'd be getting into adding the USBs. SUPER EASY!

What size fuse should be used with the fuse tapper if adding extra an USB port and maybe a 12v socket like in the picture that MaximumTwenty posted?

I thing a 10amp would be fine, as long as you're not running anything heavy duty. For charging cell phones/tablets and other misc. devices 10amp is plenty.

I have been reviewing this post and a few others and surprised no one simply tapped into the 12V and ground wires. It was super easy to do.

What kind of wire taps are you using?
Also, did you mount the new USB Plug into the center console area? Do you have a Pic?
Thanks
