I was wondering if you could install the 5way trailer side wire harness in line in the back of the bumper, or does this connector just come from the 7 way harness? Thanks

The harness attaches to the 7 way on the bumper and then you plug the 5 way into the adapter harness. It is very easy and keeps everything working as it should with no splicing or cutting.

Did my take on what I wanted for reverse lights using various methods found on here.

Used the referenced Curt adapters. Wired to reverse lights and on a switch wired to constant power. Wired in bed lights as well, all feed to the trailer wire harness. Used 3.5 inch pods mounted on tubular mounts purchased off Amazon. The mounts are mounted underneath to the hitch. Turned out just how I wanted, very inconspicuous and barely noticeable.

Unfortunately I did not take any good photos along the way.

Great mod I’m looking to tackle this myself. What wires from the Curt adapter exactly did u tap into? The lights I got off Amazon have a red and black lead on them. Did u tap Into black/reverse and white/ground?

I wired the positive wires from the lights to the trailer side harness blue wire. And ground to a bumper bolt.
