Are you planning on visiting your dealer to get this light officially inspected? Send us a direct message as we'd be glad to help with that process.

I kept getting something similar (ABS and AWD errors) in my 2015 Chrysler 200 (similar safety tech used in the Rams as far as I know) and in the end my entire rear differential had to be replaced. Curious to see what it ends up being on the Ram.

One of my speed sensors is being changed as I type. I had 5 - 7 alarms including Service ABS, Service Trailer Break, Service steering adjusting headlights, and service Air suspension. My speedometer would not display my speed and Odometer was not registering miles. The power steering felt non-existent as well. Sure hope the sensor fixes all this.

Any official solution with the new speed sensor?

On a previous truck I had the same symptoms. All caused by a bad front driver side wheel hub bearing assembly. The front wheel hub design had the wheel speed sensor integral to it, so I couldn't replace one without the other.

I never knew if the sensor was bad, or if the bearing was starting to go and causing the sensor to go crazy. Either way, after the part swap everything was fixed. Given your mileage, likely culprit is the wheel speed sensor and not a bearing. Not sure if the two are mutually exclusive on a Ram, or if you'll have to replace the whole assembly like I had to (it was on a Chevy).

I was called from the dealer (not where I purchased the truck). I was told I needed a new speed sensor on a rear wheel and then a new ABS module. I was informed that the module is on back order and will not be available until June 30th. They are making these trucks everyday, but i have to wait for part that is on back order. Vehicle is marker as down so they are hoping it wont be as long as they were told. I am not saying anything negative about the dealer. They are treating me very well and much better than I would have thought. They drive 20 mile one way to pick up my truck and work on it. They have even given me a 2018 Jeep Wrangler as a loaner.

Just finished the 500 mile towing break-in on my 2019 3500. About 20 miles after finishing I thought the truck was celebrating with a bunch of dinging. Party time right? Turns out the service ABS system, service traction control, service trailer brake system all decided to come on at once. Service engine light was late to the party but did show up. I picked this truck up last Saturday (July 5th) and drove it for 500 miles before putting a trailer behind it then did 500 miles at 50 mph... Now am on an extended vacation that involves a warranty visit. Not a happy camper.

jayashton I had the same issue with my limited. It turned out to be a speed sensor in one of the rear wheels. It has been a couple weeks and so far I have had no further issues. Good luck.

Yesterday I backed into a driveway to turn around. Put my truck into 4wd to not turf the wet driveway and as I pulled out my tires started to spin. I looked down to see service abs light on and was unable to put into 4wd. Kept saying 4wd temp unavailable. After digging myself out and getting back into the hard road everything seems fine. I'm currently bugging out at my camp to avoid the Corona virus scare. My truck has 30k on it what are my options? I'm not sure dealerships are open and I sorta need my 4wd to access my camp.

My truck is doing the same thing. The three dummy lights will come on and then randomly turn off. I also get the service ABS and 4x4 unavailable messages. I've had it at the dealer and they still haven't found a fix.

You have three indications of fault: ABS, Traction Control, and Electronic Parking Brake.

All three are intertwined with an ABS fault. You may not realize it, but you don't have Cruise Control, Electronic Stability Control, or Drag Torque Control. You may not have Hill Start Assist or Hill Descent Control either. All of these become inactive when the ABS system is faulted.

This could be the result of a bad Wheel Speed Sensor, Hydraulic Control Unit, or Internal Control Unit fault or failure. Could also be a bad fuse or electrical connection. A technician should be able to quickly identify the fault with an OBII scanner since these are stored. The diagnostic process will be displayed on his shop computer once it detects the fault code.

If the tech. said he's never seen this kind of fault before, I'm a little surprised. This is most commonly caused by a bad Wheel Speed Sensor or associated wiring. But if he hasn't seen it before, I guess that's a very good thing.

Best Regards,
Dusty

I am seeing this same issue on my 2017 Ram 2500. The abs and traction control lights come on intermittently. Took it to the dealer today and they said it was throwing a C0020-01 code and needs the HCU and abs module needs to be replaced. This seems to be a very common issue and a serious safety issue. Does RAM have a recall in the works to take care of this issue?

There are 2 icons/indicators that look the same. The traction control & stability system both have the same icon. When mine went on it flashed a warning to service the stability control system then I only saw the icon lit up. Went to the dealer and a software update fixed it.

Just had the same issue on a 2020 1500 Eco diesel with 1500 miles on it. Just towed a 2000 lb load for about 75 miles, no issues, parked it in the driveway for two days and then started it up and all the codes came up at start up.. Similar to above they all appear brake related as the ABS light was the first to come up, then the stability warning, 4wd temp. unavailable warning, cruise control would not work and front avoidance brake assist was disabled, and that was all I could see as they flashed by. Heading to the dealer tomorrow and I do hope it is a fast fix. - for a three week old vehicle with only 1500 miles on it, it is a little disappointing.
