Good afternoon everyone I recently purchased a used 2020 ram 1500 Laramie with the 5.7 hemi 4x4 69k miles. Since the purchase idle rpm at operating temp has consistently been 550-600 RPM, well today I fired it up and drive to the store along the way I noticed that stopped in gear or park my idle was sitting at 800 RPMS 204f engine temp 115f outside temp. Is this normal?? No stored or pending codes per my scanner and no loss of power or weird driving behavior either.

I think hot idle should be around 600 rpms, it will idle higher before up to temp. However, if it fluctuates up when fully hot, it could be a dirty throttle body, which based on your mileage could be a possibility.

You may want to check and clean yours, pretty easy fix if that's the case.

Will definitely look into that thank you!!
