34's vs 35's

Just added 34s(275/65R20) Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s on my stock offroad package w/o air ride '21 Laramie.

Debating if I should recalibrate then or not. I can feel the trans shifting a bit differe t going from 18" rim with 32" falken wildpeaks to 20" rims to bring me to 34.1"

I have 3.92's in my truck and I feel like the ratio change to the 34" tire is for the better response-wise to me with the 8-speed. It feels quicker than it did on the stock 32" tires. I always felt like my old 2014 that had 3.92's and 35" tires felt quicker than my new truck on the stock tires and now it feels better like the old truck.

I don't want to say quicker. For me it feels like it's holding gears longer, like in tow/haul mode. I'm still hitting my 7th and 8th gears with no problems.

Especially 2nd and 3rd gears, it holds it alot longer..

Just had 295/65r20 Yokohama Geolandar MT's put on my stock night edition wheels. Fits without issue. My speedometer is off quite a bit at higher speeds. When seeing 55MPH i'm actually going 60. When showing 70MPH I'm actually going 82.

Also, have 3.21 gears and I can still smoke the tires. Can tell the tires are there but honestly this thing is still pretty quick. Kinda surprised me. Will be getting tire size calibrated at dealership soon to correct speedometer issues.

Is this tire size upgrade without and other mods? Lift/pacers and no rubbing?

Only 2.5" motofab level. No other mods, no spacers. Stock wheels. I think even a 2" level would be enough, as height isn't the issue with these tire sizes it seems. It's width of the tires and how close they get to the front and back of the wheel well. I clear that just fine in mine.

Hi all, this is a great thread I love the photos.
I'm not sure if I want to go 34" or 35" myself - Nitro Ridge Grappler, or exo Grappler will be the tire though
I have the stock 18" wheels - do any of you find a 35 is too much rubber?

Also, does anyone know how much mileage is affected between sizes?
The 35s I'm looking at weigh 10lbs more per tire.

1500 tradesman with ORP, Bilstein 5100s at #5 and 1" Daystar rear spacer. Overall a 3" lift level from stock.

Would I need spacers to prevent rubbing at full lock?

3.5" front, 2" rear lift/level with bfg ko2 285/65r20(34.5" on oem wheel)

Drop some pictures in here of your 34 or 35 inch tires! Trying to get a feel for what I want to go with. Is there much of a difference in MPG between the two? Im about to put the MOPAR 2in lift on and I'm torn between 34's or 35's. Goal is to see if 35's look stuffed or if 34's make it look too roomy. Thanks for your help! Any input is appreciated!

2021 rebel with 6112 bilstein struts at top setting for approx 1.75 net lift. Running Nitto Recon Grapplers 35x12.5x18. Zero trimming. Not even the factory plastic dirt/mud flap. 1-1/2” coil spacer at rear with extended bilstein 5100’s. Core 4x4 front upper control arms. Love these arms but warning you will need minimum of -12 offset to clear arms at full turn. My first set of fuel shok wheels are -12 and no problem however I prefer tires to be flushy flush with fender flare so I went with 0 offset in these newer wheels. These tires rub arms slightly at full turn.

This is what I was running prior to my set up now. This was a bilstein 5100 front strut set up at top setting, factory upper control arms and 1-1/2” coil spacer at rear. Fuel shok 18x9 wheel with Nitto ridge grapplers 295/79/18. This was a great set up. Don’t know why I went to 35’s. Wasn’t necessary.

With all these bigger tires going on, are any of y'all getting your speedometers adjusted?
I used Jscan $20 for license, a $20 bluetooth obd2 adaptor, and a $15 security bypass cable. I can add to the conversation here that after adding bigger tires it is essential to update the ecu with the correct size. I actually programmed mine a few times (can adjust by 0.25” increments in the ecu) to get it dialed in perfect. Now it actually shows 75 at 75 gps. I ran 33” tires for about six months without updating the ecu and it worked but the shift points were messed up especially when towing it literally wouldn’t stop hunting for gears, it was absolutely terrible towing. After updating the ecu to correct size it fixed all the shift points, tows normal again and increased fuel milage slightly. I have the 3.21 gears and it works fine. I have no doubt 34 or 35 would not be a problem if the correct value is set to the ecu. The computer needs to know the correct size to calculate correct powertrain outputs. Also for the record the max size the factory ecu will accept is 44” 😁

That's also how I changed my tire size.
