295 or 285 tires for 20inch Ram rim - Discussion

Just ordered the 295/60R20 Open County ATII to put on with the Ready Lift 2” level. They will be put on Tuesday, I’ll let everyone know how they look/ride after they get put on. I’m hoping I’m not sacrificing too much ride quality going with the 295s over the 285s.

I just installed 295/60 R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on a 2" level, and had to pop off the piece of trim on the bottom of the wheel well. Was very surprised as I read and saw many posts from guys running this set-up with no rubbing. No air suspension.
What offset are you running by chance? I am looking at 295/60R20 with -18 offset with a 2" level

Are you still happy with the open country toyos? They ride quite? Still no rubbing?
 
Thinking about going with the 285/60/r20 General Grabber A/TX. Anyone Curren ride these?
 
Interested to see if 27/65/20 works on stock truck....
 
If you are going with the stock height...you may be able to get away with 11.5 width...not sure if 12.5 width is possible without spacers.
I have a 2.5in level and am running 285/65R20 at 34.6 height and 11.2 width.
I feel like the 285 Nitto’s ride better then the stock 275 tires...
Are these 10-ply? They look great. Just don’t want a harsh ride
 
285/60/20. Debated on 295. Could not be happier with 285. Fills the gap just enough, but not too stuffed. Only lost about 1.8mpg after recalibration. I have 2 inch mopar/fox lift.
What unit did you use to re-calibrate?

Did the 2.5 Motofab lift affect your ride quality? I’m hearing a lot of mixed reviews on this subject?
 
285 rides better than 295, despite being only 0.4" narrower, with the same load rating, same tire construction, and same tire weight? :unsure:

So I'm racking my brain trying to decide which way I want to go also, but one thing that is for sure is that 275s are stock width and look silly on 9" wheels, 285s are marginally better, and once you get to 295s it finally starts to look decent on the wheel and fills out the wheel arches a bit. So, I guess I'm debating between the 295/60 and 305/55. Hmmm......
 
I say 295/60 as when I had my 295/70/18 on it really gave an aggressive look to the vehicle. Of course this was an A/T tire though..
 
Go with 35x12.50R20 ! The other sizes don’t have the girth the truck requires , I went the 295-60-20 and 285-65-20 on my 14 Ram and it looked sick until I went with 35x12.50’s - here’s a couple of pics of my 19 BIGHORN with 35x12.50R20 Thunderer Ranger ATr tires

do you have any side view pics. Trying to see how even tires are with fender flares. Have the exact truck only in white.
 
I just got 295/60R20 today. They're WAY taller than expected. I don't think they're going to work. They measure out a half inch taller than my prior 35x12.50R17 and 315/70R17 tires I used to run on my Gladiator. These 295/60R20s are TALL! This is every bit a 35x12.00 tire or more.

I might have to back down some and go 305/55.

I installed 295/60 R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers too. But I put a 3"spacer on front end with 1" spacer in rear to level and didn't have to trim anything and have no rubbing at all. But I went with a
+1 offset on the rim.
A really nice looking truck
