2025 Tungsten Already Broken - Unreal

Well, I have 196 miles and I'm already stranded. The parking brake has automatically engaged itself and no matter what I try I cannot get it to release. This isn't my first ram so I am aware of how to release it. And to be clear, I never engaged it in the first place. I just got off the phone with the tech and he said there is no way to manually disengage it. There are other quirks I've noticed which had me worried, but i didn't expect something like this.

I'm waiting for it to be towed to the dealership.

If you aren't dead set on ram and are thinking about ordering one, don't. My wifes grand wagoneer has been plagued with electrical issues so I should have known better.

Im absolutely furious and besides myself that engineers don't have a manual disengage, or why it's electronic to begin with.
They all have issues every make every model my 19 laramie hemi has 114k miles and I run tf out of it daily done a water pump & manifold bolts in the 90k range other thab that it stays on the speed limiter and rev limiter my next will be a Ram tungsten. Our last escalade & I've had 3 was a complete pile of 💩 I was a all GM family me wife kid so on & my bestfriend had a new Ram in high-school grad in 06 and his was a pos like many in that era. Escalade was bought new it was a 17 platinum 4x4 worst driving riding stiff junk transmission was the clunkiest every had new converter installed at 5k miles then 3 tcms & all the so called updated fluid. I was so nervous buying my ram I almost threw up signing the paperwork because I felt like I was committing treason.

You got a bad one -- our '18 Escalade Platinum ESV has been trouble free as has all 4 of my Ram 1500s since 2014.

On the contrary this is a “light refresh” with a completely new engine and “electrical architecture”. So the two things that drive these trucks are brand new.

With that being said I had a GMC sierra denali last year and the head gasket blew with 196 miles on it. Things happen, hopefully this is less of a permanent issue that that and more of a loose connection of some kind.
Both of you need to be restricted from owning any vehicles with less than 200 miles on them.

I guess allow me to be the first, then. Before I bought my '20 Ram I did a lot of research, including forums. With the covid effect in full swing at the time, I wasn't going to order a truck, and availability/selection weren't great, so I wanted to be sure to "buy once, cry once". Ram forums were full of people who raved about the new DT, with the majority of negative experiences seemingly related to the early '19 models. Ford guys were b**tching about trannies and plastic interiors, and GM guys had a lot of engine complaints. No single source of information drove me to my purchase decision, but forum presence was part of the equation.
Ha, I usually read forums, whether I want to buy a vehicle or not. The 5th Gen RAM was a bit new (I bought a 2019 in May of that year). Did the same forum checking for my wife's replacement vehicle, and picked up a Buick Enclave before the 2025 big changes. I am not an early adopter by any means.

I went on the forums when I was cross shopping for a Ford Raptor. The amount is issues with cam phasers was unbelievable. The basic consensus was that they are going to fail, and you are going to have to suck up the 10K in repairs. I believe it was around the 60K mile mark.

It scared me enough that I stayed with Ram. I REALLY loved the look of the Raptor, but a 10K repair that a majority of people must deal with was too much

This happened once on my truck. First, turn off the feature that automatically engages the parking brake when you go into park. This feature also engages the parking brake if the door is opened at slow speeds. As others have said, then disconnect the battery.

On our truck, what triggered it was the guys at the car washing moving it with the door opened and the parking brake constantly trying to engage. In non-technical terms, it simply got out of sequence or "confused." Once we turned off the automatic parking brake, we have not experienced this again. It does function, btw, when we turn it on, but this to me is another example of additional and unnecessary complication. I can activate the parking brake myself, and there are a few situations where I don't want it trying to activate while I am parking and want to see the ground under the door etc.

Yup. 2025 Tungsten. Just got it delivered yesterday. I accidentally left that out of the title, thanks for pointing it out. Fixed
It sounds like my Tungsten. My lumbar and thigh support doesn't work, my engine has a noticeable tick and an lose aluminum sound vibration on cold start up. I'm getting a lot of dust inside the cab, so much it collects on most surfaces. Also the tow mirrors are so tall that they are an endurance at a four way stop, or coming to a round about. So disappointed.

that's Interesting for sure, I played with the settings last night a little more. it seems the more I raise the treble slider the more bass I get which is weird to me. then the vocals seem too loud. I'm used to cranking the Bose system and the rear window would shake with the deep bass and automatically set the sliders where I would have for that system and this one doesn't appear to work that way. they really need 5 slider levels on the EQ on this thing.
i agree

I know that this is a late post, but I to have a 2025 Tungsten. Don't know if yo know or not, but there is a setting were you can select auto or manual for the parking brake to engage or not, which I thing is pretty cool, you may have selected it, is why it applied the parking brake. Also, if you don't connect your seat belt, the parking brake will not release! Just trying to assist, if you haven't tried anything else.

Was just about to add this. We accidentally turned ours on in our grand Wagoneer without knowing haha.

That's been a setting in all 5th gens since 2019. I have mine turned on, purposely.

Same here. IMO, pretty funny to see all the new members wowed with features their '25s have, that many of us have had for years...
