2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Yes, from what I'm finding the tow hooks should work. Looking at a couple trucks that had the tow hooks their does not appear to be a separate bezel for the 2025, the cut outs are in the plastic part of the lower grill now with the bezels already kind of built in with the covers behind them. All you should have to do is push the tabs on the back side of the covers to remove. I see mopar sites selling kits for the 2025's with the old bezels, they clearly will not fit and are not needed.

I came across this part #, not sure if it is correct

There is a pump that circulates coolant when you shut the truck off. I was told to cool the turbos. Mine seems to run for a long time 15 minutes or so, every time I start and stop the engine, even if I am just moving it into the garage. I look at the tube feeding the coolant back into the reservoir and it is barely a trickle. Are other seeing this? Seems like there should be a sensor to only run it when it is hot.

Mine does the same, even it if just move it from the driveway to the garage it runs for a good 15 minutes after I turn it off. But yea I agree seems kind of a waste to run it cold.

Now it makes sense, I have noticed post shutting off the engine sometimes for 10-15 minutes I hear clicking/clacking and a humming noise under the hood!

That's insane for a big horn, might as well step up to a Laramie at that point...
Oh I know! But I was very set on the options that I wanted and finding a Laramie with the same options pushed it to about $66-67K and the discounts on the Laramies were not that great at the time. Also I purchased in July of 2020, so I had a hard time finding what I wanted.

With the discounts, I got my BigHorn for $51K

Also have been looking for floor mat upgrades. Weather tech and Husky have yet to come out with a 2025 version, but TuxMat listed it on their site. I got them today and the drivers side mat does not allow for the driver side footrest, which must be a change from 2024. Driver mat does not lay flat and flexes when you put a foot on it. I am waiting to hear back from TuxMat. Hoping I can keep the passenger and rear and they will send me a new drivers side when it is available.

Those loafers don’t slip on your off road running boards do they?

Anyone having aggressive down shifts from 5-4 and 4-3. Like in traffic or a neighborhood and when you hit the gas pedal I get a clunk and it’s very jerky…anyone else?

21.8 mpg, that's great. 4x4? What type of driving? Speeds? Lead foot?

I need to do a hand calculation to be fair. Going based on the truck read out.
Since I got it from the dealer I reset the trip when I pulled off the lot. 4x4. 3.55 axle.
I just did my first WOT run actually today. Impressed.
I’m a cruise control abuser. Prob 75/80 percent highway/interstate at either 55/60 and 70/75 mph. 25/20% city. I don’t baby it but I don’t lead foot it either.

Anyone do a catch can yet? I’ve had them on all my trucks. I’ve never had a truck so new that the market doesn’t have much available for them.

Not sure how the PCV system is designed on the new Hurricane. If you can find a vacuum line between PCV valve and intake manifold you could probably make a universal catch can work.

Another MPG update.
Traveled distance: 419 miles
Fill amount: 22.5 Gal
Hand calc. MPG: 18.6,
Truck reported MPG: 19.6mpg
Driving mix: 310 miles of 2-lane HWY @Avg speed 70mph
109 miles of pure stop-and-go city
Manual shut off of stop/start - too damn annoying in AZ this time of the year since it stops AC!!

Filled up with 91 octane, this is the highest octane available at gas stations in AZ.

Yes -- the downshifts are aggressive/jerky. on 2019 there was a TSB that fixed this -- which it did. not aware of any TSB for 25 MY.

I’m glad to be back in a Ram. Just picked up a 2025 Lone Star today with the level 2 package. So far I like it. Miss the hemi rumble a bit but this thing can move. Drove home about 40 miles and was averaging 23.2mpg per the truck.

I was hoping some of the parts were interchangeable but now I’m seeing some might not be.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll have to get mine to the dealer and see what they can do. It’s mostly 5/4 and the 4/3 shifts.
