2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

Day 46 of the dealership having my Rebel rotting on their lot. I stopped by the service dept this morning with the wire hanging out of her like she was in the ICU. They claim the rep from MI has been here all week trying different software remedies with no resolution. I'm running out of patience and no lemon law lawyers are calling me back. I mailed my own complaint forms out to the BBB and the FL capital today.
Day 87 for me with a week and a half promise.

So I’m picking up my truck today. Misfire: they couldn’t find anything wrong, were very truthful with me and said they have a bunch doing the same thing, just drive it unless it’s flashing and hopefully we’ll get a fix soon. Tow/haul mode: apparently these trucks don’t announce (in the gauge center stack) that you have activated the mode. Steering wheel button:replaced. Trailer wiring: they couldn’t reproduce the fault, nothing wrong. Not the outcome I wanted but I’ll keep driving it until a fix, at least I got it back unlike some of the guys on here. Very frustrating to have your baby in the shop for a month or two. I wish you guys luck.

I hope patience is all we need... I hope.

What do you mean by it doesn’t announce tow/haul mode? Do you have the Drive modes or toggle switch? With drive modes I can access tow haul and it shows on the dash.

They have to fix it, depending on your state (I’m in Ohio) there’s only a certain number of (minor/major) issues before it’s considered a “lemon”, in Ohio it’s 3 major, misfires being a major, 2 more times in a twelve month period and they have to take my truck back. Unfortunately I’ve gone through this process before with a Ford truck and the dealer didn’t fight me on bit, but as I said, I love everything about this truck and I’m confident that it’ll get worked out. It may take the threat of a class action, but it will be resolved.

In the information center between the speedo and tach, my 21’ would briefly show tow/haul mode activated, and it was lit in the speedo while on. (Not talking about the infotainment center)

Gotcha. That’s how my 25 works. IMG_2964.jpeg

I have the same issue with my recently purchased 2025 Ram 1500 with a 3.0 L SO Hurricane engine three weeks ago . After 3 days the check engine light came on. I immediately took it to the dealer. They did an OBDII scan and all cylinders registered as misfiring. During cold engine starts, I can feel the engine misfire and after a couple minutes it smooths out and seems to run well. The dealer claims RAM knows about the issue, but doesn't know what the problem is. They cleared the CEL and sent me on my way. I bought a scanner to monitor what is going on, and there is now two pending misfire codes (P0306, P0300). Has anyone run into this issue and found any resolution?
I use an ANCEL BD310 OBDII scanner and love it. The blue-tooth connection to my I-phone allows for review of all data and reports for vehicle health and issues.
I just bought my 2025 with 3.0l Hurricane last Saturday. Dropped it off yesterday with CEL solid and sometimes flashing. I think it's the cold start misfire you're talking about. They confirmed misfire codes, but said they can't see it misfiring when they're observing it.

Update on my CEL misfire issue...so far so good. Put a few hundred miles on her and the fuel pump replacement has been the answer (I hope that didnt jinx me). Sounds like a lot of different solutions given for the same CEL misfire problem on this thread. I hope everyone gets some resolve.
Thanks for the update. Do you have a OBD2 scanner to check for misfires codes? Also, how smooth is a cold start, does the RPM fluctuate initially then settle out?

I did buy a scanner and will use it when a code pops up. So far no noticeable cold start issues but I'll be on the lookout...I have typical warm up RPMs that settle out before I head out for my daily business.

I have a scanner and since I got mine back 450 miles and no CEL again…yet. I did see a few mis fire codes since I got it back but no CEL again. A rescan a few days later no codes. I’m gonna keep checking every few days. I’m on a fb page for this engine and alot of people having this issue. Someone did bring up a good question. Most people with the issue appear to have a build date March 2024. I checked mine and sure enough same build date. Curious if any one on here has similar find. You can find it on the driver side door jam.

That's the build month. Look at the other sticker for the day/hour of your build.

This Star case was just released. Almost like they do not know what is going on.
That's a different Star Case # than what I was given (not surprised though the way the Service Department personnel were). Just a few comments from your attachment....Did the US government put out those diagnostic instruction? Wow...LOL...and I'm surprised they didn't ask what the owner ate the night before with that set of trouble shooting instructions...

Like you said, they dont have a clue. Basically, there could be many root causes.
Still, does not explain why some trucks have CEL and others dont.

I would think they are pending vs active/stored codes. That would explain CEL vs no light. Pending codes do not set lights. You start the truck there is a misfire that clears up, it will set a pending code. Next time the vehicle is started, no misfire passes test, code goes away. That is the easiest way to explain it.

The case you have is specifically for your truck/repair. This is like a TSB, it will show up when the tech searches for the concern. Will it become a TSB, most likely not. They are trying to get as much info to get a correction made for the issue.

What is the difference between pending and stored? I have misfire codes on my own scans that say pending and no CEL. This is after I got it back from the deal with CEL. They changed my ICM.
