My example is an extreme example and it is contaminated, you would be surprised how many people do what I said on accident. We see "contaminated fuel" enough to have storage tanks for it. Usually water/unknown fluid in fuel.

It happens, just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't make it not real.

I also am a skeptical of the diagnosis. It still can happen.
Never said it couldn't happen, I was just pointing out how rare it is.

There is something wrong with these '25s, something that didn't happen with the '19s.

I just hope Stellantis figures it out quickly before their sales drop even further...

If there’s gonna be some sort of software update for this issue, is that something you’d have to take it back to the dealership for? Since I’ve been dealing with this CEL problem that affects my remote start, they told me it was throwing a code for misfiring on start up and the cause was because of foreign fluid in the fuel. Since it’s currently at the dealership I’m wondering if I should just leave it there in the mean time if they end up needing it for any software update
They've had my truck for 15 days now. That is their recommendation is to leave it so I don't lose my place in line for when "the specialist" starts making his rounds at dealerships.

I plan on going to the dealership when they call so that I can be present for them getting the fuel sample and testing it. Depending on what ends up happening, I might end up just taking the truck back and draining the fuel tank myself and just cycle good fuel through it. Even if it ends up coming out that contaminated fuel isn’t the issue, I’ll be out $1200 since it isn’t covered under warranty.
Hopefully the Stelantis dealers aren't PITA's like GM was with the Ecotec engines. The next argument could be the contaminated gas caused damage and that damage is excluded from warranty as well. In the case of Ecotec's they burned oil. If you took one to a dealership for a problem without ensuring the oil was topped off, they would log the low oil condition. This could later be used to deny future claims.

Yeah I’m worried about more damage occurring because they haven’t actually identified the real issue, and I continue to shell out money until I replace the entire powertrain and associated harnesses or wiring

Seems there can be different reasons for this engine light issue. Mine came on at 850 miles. Took it in to the service center here. They had a service bulletin that stated to look at/behind the airbox. The codes that they read had shown multiple miss fires. Even though, the engine was running fine. Mine also would not allow auto start to randomly engage/not engage, start, then shut right back off, or start and then when I opened the door, shut off immediately. They removed the airbox to find the engine wire harness had came loose at a connection point and not properly secured. They secured the harness and did a comprehensive, like trying to get it to break and this was shown by the fuel mileage left, and the fuel mileage average, to try and get the engine light to come back on.

We shall see if that fully corrected the issue, and I know where to hunt first if it comes back. I know this may not be your case, but at least at my service center, they are more up to date and educated on the engine light issues.
They told me my wiring harness was loose as well the first go round. Two days later the light was back on again. Fifteen days later... still no resolution.

It's funny that Rams have multiple misfires and bad fuel when the Jeep Wagoneers have not or at least I haven't heard of these issues. My local dealer said thar the 3.0 has been a great engine in the Wagoneers. The Wagoneers electrical issue have been horrible according to the service manager.

On July 6th I picked up a 2025 Ram 1500 Bighorn with the SST engine as well. The CEL and Service Trailer Brake System warning came on the very next day. CEL was cleared on its own later that evening but the brake controller issue stayed. I contacted the dealership and scheduled service at my earliest convenience which just happened to be today. Friday, July 12th, the truck stalled while attempting to start after being parked over night but fired right back up and was accompanied by the CEL. I reached back out to the service department to try to get it in earlier and they told me they couldn’t get me in until my appointment. Then July 16th while the CEL was still on, my truck stalled at initial startup in the am, stalled at lunch time, and then stalled after work when I decided to take the pile into the dealership. The sales side has been good to deal with and they put me right into a loaner, but the service department didn’t touch it until today. It sat for a week and apparently the CEL cleared on its own and they can’t get it to stall at all. I told the salesman I’ve been dealing with that I scanned the codes when it happened and sent her the SS below. Idfk what they plan to do but it sounds like I am yet another lucky recipient of a jacked up truck that better not be a constant lemon….

Here’s the list of codes that I got on the Friday it decided to go stupid.

yea, I'm betting it is not in the engine itself but something that is unique to the Ram. Sensors, exhaust, intake would likely very from the Wagoneer.

What the heck is Implausible engine speed signal?
I've seen implausible timing DTC's for a GM vehicle where the encoder on an exhaust camshaft spun so the timing between the intake and exhaust camshafts was "implausible." Basically the SW in the engine controller said this can't happen based upon all other components working correctly (implausible). My read on implausible engine speed would be that two sensors (maybe cam and crankshaft) are reporting different timing data that disagree. One of them has to be wrong. If spark timing is driven by cam timing then if the cam sensor isn't working properly, mis-fires would occur. Ideally your dealer will hook up a scope and measure the timing between the cams as well as the crank to determine if there is simply a bad batch of sensors or cam shafts causing this problem...

I’m guessing it is due to the P0366 fault.

I just got off the phone with the service guy and he explained to me that they checked and tried everything that they found in the tech forums and everything is either good or was no change. They’ve currently escalated this to Star support and are waiting to hear back from them.
